Are you still a Republican?…

It should be clear to everyone that still has their faculties. That today’s Republican Party is a shell of its former self. The once proud GOP stood for “liberty, economic prosperity, preserving American values and traditions, and restoring the American dream for every citizen of this great nation.” as stated by the Republican National Committee on their website.

Let’s break that down and see how this generation of Republican politicians and their MAGA base holds up to the party’s core principles.

Liberty is defined as “the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views.” Republicans have taken “Liberties” off their to-do list.

The number of GOP state legislators who are stripping the rights of women with their anti-abortion laws is growing by the day. Let’s not forget the coordinated gerrymandering by Conservatives going on across the nation stripping minority communities of equal representation. Along with stricter voting laws focused on districts with larger Black and Hispanic populations to reduce voter turnout.

Ron Desantis Governor of Florida has been on a crusade to strip away the civil liberties of the LGTBQ Americans in a plethora of ways. This is not only happening in Florida, as Trans people across the country are under fire from Republican officials in Federal, State, and Local Government positions.

On to “economic prosperity.” They are still all for this. Just not for the large majority of Americans who are poor or middle class. They consistently favor the rich and corporations. Their view is the Poor and middle class should pay all of the tax money that funds the U.S. While corporations and the wealthy enjoy record profits and face little to no taxes or regulations. Right Wing media and the Billionaire Republicans who own them, are constantly pushing narratives that the reasonable amounts of money that goes to subsidies for the poor are bankrupting the country. Yet if the wealthy and corporations paid the same percentage in taxes as the majority of citizens, we could eliminate the deficit in no time.

Preserving “American values and traditions” is up next. Well the current ruler of the Party, Donald Trump, will be facing close to 100 indictments when all is said and done. He tried and failed at a coup on national television. He claims he wants to defund the FBI. He also stole and shared our nation’s secrets. Let’s not forget he sexually assaulted at least one woman. The man prefers Vladimir Putin and Russia to Democracy and Ukraine. Don’t overlook the football coach Tommy Tuberville who is currently taking the military and their ranks hostage.

Finally “restoring the American dream for every citizen” If your dream is to strip rights and liberties from women, minorities, and LGTBQ citizens then yes you are a Republican. How about the dreams of the many children and other innocent victims of all the mass shootings throughout America? Were their dreams not considered? Instead, they protect the NRA and lobbyists who line GOP officials’ pockets. Then I guess if your dream is for more mass shooters because you don’t want common sense gun laws you are a Republican

If your dream is to force the poor and middle classes to pay the bills for the entire nation. While corporations with no regulations steal and destroy this nation’s resources well then you are a Republican. If your dream is that the Planet is irreparably damaged by climate change because you don’t believe that it’s true, then you are a Republican.

Or If your dream is for Russia and other authoritarian regimes to succeed at the cost of democracy and Ukraine then you are a Republican. Let us not forget if you are for defunding Law enforcement (FBI)and harming national security by holding the military processes hostage then you are a Republican.

So it is that simple. These are the actual issues and agendas that today’s GOP values and it’s frightening. Now it’s up to Democrats to inform all voters that this is who they are running against in elections across this land. There Is something so unAmerican about the current Republican Party. Sadly many Voters never hear the full story. Please don’t leave it up to me to spread the message. I will certainly need to get more pageviews to convince all the decent, god-fearing people out there that they are no longer Republicans. Not by today’s Party Standards anyway.
