Attorney General Merrick Garland, today announced, that Federal Prosecutor David Weiss would be appointed to Special Counsel. In the ongoing Hunter Biden investigation.
Weiss, who was originally appointed by former President Trump. Was selected by Trump, to investigate President Joe Biden’s son Hunter. U.S. Attorney Weiss, who was still in the midst of the investigation when Trump left office. Had been kept on the case by Garland. In an effort to see the investigation come to a final conclusion. Weiss, was given total prosecutorial discretion by the Attorney General. An uncommon practice, done to squash any potential appearance of political influence.
The strategic decision should have negated accusations by Republicans of political corruption. However many in the GOP, have still lambasted the five-year investigation. That up until now, had only produced two misdemeanor charges and a third charge to be dismissed. The proposed deal, which was considered aggressive by legal experts. Recently fell apart, due to Biden’s attorney’s objection. He felt his client was being exposed to further litigation on a closed matter. Was not what was originally agreed upon.
Cries from Republicans, to assign a Special Counsel for the Biden investigation. Have now been answered. Yet they continue to bellyache over the issue. Weiss, who is a Republican appointee. Has yet to produce the damning evidence, that they’ve promised their base exists. It’s repetitive rhetoric, you hear from Conservatives and their media pals. When in actuality, Weiss’ appointment could impede their devious political agenda.
Recent messaging by House Republicans. Indicate that they planned to introduce impeachment inquiries, on President Biden. Now that it is once more an ongoing investigation. The GOP has tried and failed to connect the President, to his son’s dealings. May now have to shelve their Impeachment efforts, in light of today’s announcement.
The proposed inquiry is the latest case of Whataboutism by Republicans. Was intended to take the spotlight off of criminal defendant Donald Trump. His multitude of criminal cases is killing GOP hopes of winning back Independents. Who, has shifted toward the less divisive Democrats in recent elections. A trend that has Republicans panicking nationwide.
Any Biden Impeachment plans would ultimately fail for two reasons. First, there is no evidence of wrongdoing by the President. Second, with the Senate controlled by Democrats, the vote for conviction would never pass.
That has never been their motivation though. Impeachment hearings would distort the public’s perception of the two parties. That is their ultimate intent.
The truth is, Trump and his right-wing cohorts, planned and executed a criminal operation. Their goal was to retain power through deception, fraud, and force. Those crimes are so dangerous to the stability of our democracy. Now if Biden is under impeachment. House Republicans, would say the two vastly different situations, are comparable.
That’s why it’s so vital for all Americans. To step outside their political cocoons, and get to the truth. Because if you are counting on biased Conservative media and Politicians. I have some terrible news for you. They are lying to your face. That, you can’t blame on the left side. Do yourself and democracy a favor and find the facts yourself. Ignore the narrative they are spoon-feeding you. It might just spare you from looking foolish. You don’t want to be complicit, in the destruction of our Democracy. History won’t look lightly upon you.
