X, formerly known as Twitter. Has been in sharp decline since its takeover by Elon Musk. Advertisers and rational users have been forced to migrate from the previously beloved social networking platform.
Twitter, was once a place of great debate. Has devolved into X, a forum ruled by right-wing fanboys who get off on hateful rhetoric. Musk’s overhaul of the tech company. Includes permitting misinformation to spread like wildfire. By those whose only success comes from lying to the public. Or what Musk falsely calls “freedom of speech”. What the First Amendment actually means. Is much different than what most MAGA members claim it does. They believe it’s a license to harass others. Mostly because they’ve been spoon-fed lies, from right-wing bots. But that doesn’t change the fact, that they are too ignorant to realize they are the ones being played. So here is what the first entry of the Bill of Rights states.
The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prevents the government from making laws that regulate an establishment of religion or that prohibit the free exercise of religion, or abridge the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly, or the right to partition the government for redress of grievances. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, as one of the ten amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights
So hate speech on a private website is just not covered. Wikipedia summarizes, “Although the First Amendment applies only to government officials, there is a common misconception that it prohibits anyone from limiting free speech, including private, non-governmental entities. Moreover, the Supreme Court has determined that protection of speech is not absolute.”
So a home for trolls and habitual liars on the internet has nothing to do with the freedom of speech. Yet, a haven for bigotry must feel like home to Elon Musk. Seeing as his family, flourished under Apartheid rule in South Africa.

One that his red hat-wearing klan of incels will have on their next new T-shirt. As long as their Mothers let them borrow her debit card.
