Even The Pope Thinks American Conservatives Are Out of Touch!!!

Pope Francis recently spoke out against U.S. Catholic Conservatives. At a private meeting he attended with Portuguese Catholics. The transcripts of the meeting, show the Pope’s frustration with American Conservatives and their “backward-looking” ideology.

The Pope’s opinion is that politics not faith is the driving force behind the morally corrupt ideology, American Conservatives have in this day and age.

It seems as though Conservatives in America have not only shown hate and intolerance towards their fellow Americans. They have also aimed their attacks at Pope Francis himself. They claim that the Pope has failed at “articulating church doctrines on homosexuality, abortion, and the indissolubility of marriage.” According to MSNBC Francis’ statements opposing capitalist exploitation have drawn conservative criticism too.

Pope Francis said Conservative’s twisted view of others “is useless and we need to understand that there is an appropriate evolution in the understanding of matters of faith and morals,”

Francis also realizes that over time people should evolve in their thinking. He said “In other words, doctrine also progresses, expands, and consolidates with time and becomes firmer, but is always progressing,”

The Pope gave examples of how with time not only does the world change, but personal values should also reflect that change. “Let us get to specifics. Today it is a sin to possess atomic bombs; the death penalty is a sin. You cannot employ it, but it was not so before. As for slavery, some pontiffs before me tolerated it, but things are different today. So you change, you change, but with the criteria just mentioned.”

He went on to warn American Conservatives. Saying “Those American groups you talk about, so closed, are isolating themselves. Instead of living by doctrine, by the true doctrine that always develops and bears fruit, they live by ideologies. When you abandon doctrine in life to replace it with an ideology, you have lost, you have lost as in war.”

Now will American Conservatives heed his advice? I would like to think so, but knowing Conservatives in this country as well as I do. They will probably call the Pope a “lib virgin” and go right back to calling the police on their young pregnant neighbor. Because “she looks like the type to get an abortion”. Even Pope Francis has had enough of the hate conservatives spread in this country. Under the guise of their religious beliefs. So good luck to those ignorant Conservatives who have mistaken political ideology for their religious morals. When it’s your time to go to those “pearly gates”. Don’t expect them to open wide for you. Because if it were up to the Pope you won’t be joining him upstairs. Most likely you’ll be joining your favorite megalomaniac, Donald Trump, in the afterlife version of Mar A Largo. So dress appropriately I hear it’s going to be hot!
