(CNN) — “Kevin McCarthy was behind interim Speaker Patrick McHenry’s move to kick former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former Majority Leader Steny Hoyer out of their office spaces, two Republican sources told CNN.
GOP Rep. Garret Graves told reporters on Wednesday that McCarthy is getting the office that McHenry has ordered her to vacate.”
Former Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has been told to clean out of her office. Sources indicate that although interim Speaker Patrick McHenry was the one to break the news to Pelosi and her staff. Newly ousted Speaker Kevin McCarthy was the actual person responsible for this petty decision.
Pelosi, who was not in attendance during the vote to remove McCarthy from the speakership. Was informed of her forced eviction from her office while back home in California. Pelosi is mourning the death of her close friend Dianne Feinstein as she prepares for her funeral arrangements.
“With all of the important decisions that the new Republican Leadership must address, which we are all eagerly awaiting, one of the first actions taken by the new Speaker Pro Tempore was to order me to immediately vacate my office in the Capitol,” the California Democrat said. “Sadly, because I am in California to mourn the loss of and pay tribute to my dear friend Dianne Feinstein, I am unable to retrieve my belongings at this time.”
It appears that Kevin McCarthy has directed his vitriol and disdain towards Democrats instead of Matt Gaetz and his fellow extremists in the Republican Party. Who, was the reason that McCarthy lost his seat. Due to concessions, McCarthy negotiated with Gaetz, to earn his vote that secured the speakership in the first place.
McCarthy was given every opportunity to negotiate with Democrats to help him maintain his position but he refused. This wasn’t the first time that McCarthy would not deal with Democrats. In separate incidents where the nation was on the brink of economic collapse. Once during the debt ceiling crisis and then leading up to the recent government shutdown scare.
In both scenarios, McCarthy saw any bipartisan compromise as “surrendering” and selfishly waited until he had no other options. Each time Democrats bailed McCarthy out of his self-created disasters. McCarthy time and time again let his ego get in the way of good governance. Even after McCarthy would depend upon Democrats to save the nation in a bipartisan manner. He would immediately trash the Democrats publicly and take credit for rescuing the country from his manufactured crisis.
Why would Democrats want to save someone who doesn’t want their support and will blame them even if they were to come to his rescue? Kevin McCarthy acts as if he’s owed something from Democrats. Yet he takes every opportunity to instigate verbal attacks on them. Just as he did last night during his farewell address to the media.
Hopefully, when the dust settles, McCarthy will take a long hard look in the mirror because his ego has not only got him kicked out of his speakership. Now it has him kicking a mourning older woman out of her office. The entitlement and classlessness McCarthy has displayed throughout his political career need to be addressed. However, knowing McCarthy like we do, he will probably look right into the mirror and blame Democrats for that too.
