Israel was the victim of an unprecedented attack this morning by Hamas militants. The surprise assault came in the early morning hours of Israeli time. Fighters breached the Israeli border by land, sea, and air and caught Israel’s intelligence off guard. Mass casualties have been reported along with the kidnapping of both Israeli soldiers and civilians.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the country is “embarking on a long and difficult war” and that the first stage would be over in the coming hours. President Joe Biden said of the situation “The United States stands with Israel”. He issued a statement earlier calling the attacks “horrific” and an “appalling assault.” He added that “Israel has a right to defend itself and its people, full stop! There’s never a justification for terrorist attacks and my administration’s support for Israeli’s security is rock solid and unwavering.”
Calls for an emergency coalition government have come from Netanyahu and the opposition leader. The move would bring Netanyahu and his political rival, Yesh Atid leader, Yair Lapid, together during the national emergency.’ Israel has been dealing with extreme political division that may have led to the military being caught by surprise. Reports suggest that the military was involved with far-right Israeli groups on the other side of the country when the attack took place.
The devastating events taking place in Israel are being compared to the infamous attacks on Pearl Harbor and 9/11. This premeditated assault on Israel should be an example for the American government and its citizens. A divided nation is susceptible to ambush from a third party looking to exploit its divisions with extreme military precision. The sophistication of this tactical strategy makes you question whether a foreign government such as Iran was involved in the plotting of this operation. As of now, there is no direct evidence of such involvement by any foreign country but Iran has been known to support Hamas with weapons and money previously. We will keep an eye on the involvement of a third-party country as the situation develops.
Recent peace talks between Israel and the governments of The United Arab Emigrants and Saudi Arabia have been seen as progress toward peace in the region. However, today’s developments will most likely halt any further peace and financial agreements between the countries. Which would be the exact outcome that Israel’s enemies in the Middle East have been hoping would occur.
With Russia already occupying Ukraine and the possibility that Iran might be the driving force behind this attack. We are a Chinese invasion of Taiwan away from a coordinated attack by the present-day axis of evil. Whose goal is to undermine democracy around the globe.
It’s incumbent upon Republicans to get their act together and elect a competent Speaker of the House. America can not make any decisions regarding supporting its allies without a Speaker being appointed. If this isn’t a wake-up call to those on the right to stop their own attempts at eroding our democracy then the United States and the free world will be in great jeopardy. Republicans, ask yourself, have you been so radicalized that you want to see a 3rd World War? Because those are the stakes at this point.
It’s time for both sides to get past the partisan pettiness. Democrats cannot run this country alone. I know that the Left is not the problem with the current state of the United States political scene. Yet sometimes you need to forgive your rival for them to see the errors of their actions. The only way the U.S. will be able to effectively defend freedom around the world is if we can unite as a country. A small price to pay for peace and national unity. Till then let’s pray for the safety of Israelis and Ukrainians and God Bless WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
