I never thought I would say this but I want to thank the House Republicans. For denying Jim Jordan the Speakership. The loss couldn’t have happened to a more deserving piece of 💩. I guess the embarrassment was too much for Jordan to bear because they immediately called for a recess after the brutal first-round defeat.
From what I’m hearing any further votes will have more Republicans voting against Jordan. Some House Republicans were willing to give Jordan one chance at unifying the Republican majority. Since he epically failed in the first round, will Jordan go back into the conference to beg and plead with the holdouts to get on board? Or will he see the writing on the wall and gracefully bow out?
If I’ve learned anything by watching the MAGA politicians, Jordan will sell whatever is left of his repulsive soul to flip those 20 Congresspeople who refused to support him. Because admitting that he lost could cost Jordan his MAGA membership card. I believe item number one in the MAGA rule book is “No matter how bad you lose, tell them you were cheated”.
Reports are coming out that Jim Jordan went to Steve Scalise to ask him for his help in getting his supporters to back Jordan. Word is, that Scalise told Jordan to go pound sand in response to Jordan’s request. Rightfully so, after Jordan had undermined Scalise’s bid to become Speaker by demanding his MAGA colleagues refuse to back Scalise after he had won the nomination originally.
So strap in folks this could get interesting. The chaos caucus is just getting started. Don’t count out a comeback bid by Kevin McCarthy either. His narcissism must be at full throttle with the Republican Party failing apart all around him. He would love nothing more than the Party that ousted him to come crawling back begging for his forgiveness. Imagine if we had gone through all of this ridiculousness just to come full circle with McCarthy back in the Speaker seat. Ladies and gentlemen that is the current state of the Republican Party. As the saying goes “the fish rots from the head down”. With leadership like this, it’s no surprise that the Republican Party stinks!
