A group headed by Kevin McCarthy and Jim Jordan are busy undermining House Members in their efforts to become Speaker. Tom Emmer the latest victim of the MAGA backlash quickly bowed out of the race after learning how many No votes he had in the conference.
Now it appears Louisiana Republican Mike Johnson has taken the hot potato that is the Republican nomination for Speaker. However, a group headed by Kevin McCarthy and Jim Jordan has been rumored to be sabotaging in conference “secret” votes in all prior attempts. Word is that an effort to reinstate McCarthy with Jim Jordan in a leadership position is the new plan backed by Trump’s puppets.
It looks as though Tom Emmer’s efforts to crawl back into Trump’s good graces blew up in his face. Until Republicans realize that they can’t trust Republicans this chaos will continue to unfold. It should be a clear signal to the moderates that are still standing in the Republican Party that it would be in their best interest to cut a deal across the aisle with Democrats because every deal made with the MAGA wing turns into 💩. So good luck to Mike Johnson with friends like McCarthy and Jordan who needs enemies.
