Jenna Ellis one of Donald Trump’s attorneys who was front and center after the 2020 Presidential Election. Pled guilty today in a Georgia courtroom and plans to help the prosecution going forward with the case against Trump and his coconspirators. After entering her plea Ellis stood up and read a statement expressing her regret and lack of due diligence in fact-checking Trump while breaking down in tears.
For Ellis to say that the Trump team pulled the wool over her eyes is laughable. This is a woman who went on multiple media outlets daily and spewed lie after lie about Trump and the election results to trick the American public. The condescending attitude she used in her countless television appearances as if you were stupid if you didn’t agree with her lies. Has not aged gracefully. How could more than half of Americans know that the misinformation she was paid to spread was false yet she claims she was unaware? That makes Ellis look like not only a terrible lawyer but a liar and manipulator. To co-sign all of the thousands of lies Trump and his legal team created to overturn his election loss. Had a devastating impact on our democracy that to this day still has a lasting effect.
Jenna Ellis was way too informed with the Right Wing counterpoints to pretend that she was a victim of Trump’s deceit. If your job is specifically about shifting the narrative to distract the audience from the truth. You must know what possible detractors would say. Ellis spent most of her time working for Trump in front of a television camera pushing back on any negative publicity about the former president. If she was coerced into that role wouldn’t she have agreed with the mountain of evidence that she was paid to deny?
Of course, she knew the truth the whole time. As did a large majority of the population that Ellis was paid to coerce. So please forgive me if I don’t believe the “emotional” statement she read to the court. Even convicted family murderer Alex Murdaugh thought her performance in court was a bit much. If Ellis had not been arrested and caught up in this criminal trial she would probably be working on Trump’s 2024 Presidential campaign. A telltale sign that her tears in court were more about her being caught than being remorseful. Up until Trump stopped paying her legal fees she was team MAGA all the way. Now that Trump no longer pays her to spread disinformation it was an easy decision to flip on her former boss. Her only option was to help the prosecution by giving up what information she may have regarding the criminal charges against Trump and his co-defenders. To escape severe punishment for her involvement in the Georgia Trump criminal case.
Jenna Ellis today, showed the courtroom why Trump hired her in the first place. She manufactured tears to sell her latest lie to the American public. Acting as if she was a victim throughout her career as Trump’s mouthpiece. It may not have been her best performance to date. But I’m sure she will have ample opportunities to further mislead the rest of the world in whatever her future endeavors may be. Who knows, a woman that talented could one day become the next spokeswoman for Vladimir Putin or perhaps Hamas. Just don’t expect a letter of recommendation from her former employer and coconspirator Donald Trump.
