The New Speaker Uses Israeli Crisis As Cover For Corporate Greed!!!

Washington (CNN) — “The Republican-controlled House is once again targeting the Internal Revenue Service, this time proposing to cut some of the agency’s funding to pay for a $14.3 billion emergency aid package for Israel.

The plan, put forth by the House’s newly minted speaker, Mike Johnson, is unlikely to pass the Democrat-controlled Senate. Many Democrats are committed to supporting an overhaul of the IRS, funded with an $80 billion federal investment they approved last year through the Inflation Reduction Act.

But Johnson’s bill highlights how cutting funding from the IRS, which has been repeatedly proposed by Republicans, doesn’t actually save money.

In fact, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday that cutting $14.3 billion from the IRS would increase the deficit by almost $12.5 billion over the next 10 years.

So instead of offsetting the $14.3 billion that House Republicans wants to send to Israel, and making the bill budget neutral, the combination of sending aid and cutting IRS funding would add a total of about $26.8 billion to the deficit over a decade, according to the CBO.”

Once again it appears that Republicans have no clue how to govern. This proposal by the new Speaker Mike Johnson proves that the homophobe needs to put down the Bible and switch it out for “budgeting for dummies”. Republicans have long been obsessed with cutting spending because they believe that is the only way to balance the federal deficit. In actuality, if the government would just have the wealthy and corporations pay their fair share in taxes. Not only would the deficit be reduced in no time but the important policies that help U.S. citizens could continue to operate.

However, Republicans’ short-sighted plan calls for the poorest people in America to pay all the nation’s bills through taxes so their rich corporate donors and wealthy friends can avoid paying them. That is the only reason why Republicans want to cut federal funding to the IRS.

What they failed to realize was that their proposal would not only cut money that’s already been allocated for the IRS but by doing so they handcuffed the only part of the government that generates revenue. That would be like a mortgage lender getting rid of all their mortgage brokers to save money.

This Republican obsession with cutting spending has nothing to do with saving money for future generations and it never has been. It’s solely for political purposes because Republicans never dare try to cut programs that they have implemented. It’s always popular subsidies that Democrats have put into place that face the chopping block. Republican greed is why the lower classes struggle to survive while the rich get richer. The wealth gap was recently at its peak because Republican trickle-down economics is inherently flawed.

Thanks to the Biden Administration’s policies the working class has seen much improved wages. “Bidenenomics” as they are calling it is simply building the economy from the bottom up instead. If you give the working classes money, guess what they do? They spend it and strengthen the economy. On the flip side if you give the wealthy money they add it to their bottom line.

So when you hear Republicans bitch and moan about the deficit ask them why they don’t approve a corporate tax rate? It would solve the issue but Republicans don’t want you to know that. So they blame the few programs that help the lower classes live, on bankrupting the country. The reason is that Republicans don’t work for the American people who rely on some support, they work for their corporate interests who add to their bottom line. What makes this time even worse is that Republicans are using Aid to Israel in their time of war to accomplish their greedy political ambitions. Only Republicans can hold a hostage situation, hostage.
