Why Has Biden Become The Scapegoat For The Suffering Of Palestinians?

As former President Barack Obama recently said “Nobody’s hands are clean” in the Israeli-Hamas conflict. He then went on to say “If there’s any chance of us being able to act constructively to do something, it will require an admission of complexity and maintaining what on the surface may seem contradictory ideas that what Hamas did was horrific, and there’s no justification for it. And … that the occupation and what’s happening to Palestinians is unbearable,”

I for one could not agree more with his assessment. Yet you continue to hear Americans try to put such a complex situation into simple right and wrong terms. With President Biden facing mounting criticism for his response to the escalating conflict. For so-called “progressives” to condemn Biden and threaten to withhold their votes seems very short-sighted and detrimental to the cause of Muslim Americans

The facts as we know them are the following Hamas a known terrorist organization committed a barbaric attack on the citizens of Israel. That brutal surprise invasion not only killed Israelis but also Americans and people from 30 different nations. The ultimate goal of Hamas that October day besides slaughtering innocent people was to take as many hostages as they could back to the Gaza Strip. Included in those hostages were American citizens. Of course, President Biden had to respond.

Israel a close ally of America was certainly going to retaliate against a terrorist threat that committed the worst attack on the Jewish population since the holocaust. With American citizens being victimized and held captive there was no choice but to support Israel’s right to defend their people.

Since the start of Israel’s campaign against Hamas President Biden and Secretary Blinken have made every effort to first rescue the hostages by negotiating with their partners in the region. Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. In fact, the only hostages that have been released are due to the U.S. diplomatic missions by Blinken.

Those same partners in the Middle East under Biden’s direction have secured the passage of humanitarian aid along with foreign nationals and wounded Palestinians through Egypt’s border. Without the Biden Administration, none of those countries named were planning on allowing Palestinian refugees any aid or safe passage into their countries. Due to Hamas’ intention to hijack supplies and use innocent Palestinians as human shields and cover.

Even Stateside Biden’s Aid package not only includes money for Israel and Ukraine but also has billions for humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people. While Republicans not only removed aid to Ukraine but also removed all the funding for humanitarian assistance for Palestinians. Not to mention that the one person who would benefit from a Biden voting boycott would be Donald Trump who has pledged to reinstate his Muslim ban if re-elected.

Nobody wants innocent civilians to be killed or injured but that should go both ways in this conflict. President Biden has insisted that Israel adhere to mitigating the loss and suffering of innocent people while simultaneously using all available diplomatic channels to help free the hostages. Without his presence, there is no telling how much worse the situation would be for the millions of Palestinians being used by Hamas as human shields. Right-wing Prime Minister Netanyahu has a reputation for being insensitive to the needs of the Palestinian population. The Biden Administration has consistently pressured the Israeli government to make sure innocent civilians are not targeted by Israeli forces.

It is completely understandable for the Muslim community to be outraged by the current conditions in Gaza. However, blaming President Biden for this situation not only gives Hamas and its Iranian backers a pass for their atrocities. While it emboldens those right-wingers who look to vilify all Muslims for the heinous crimes committed by the terrorist network that started this whole war.

As for those young Americans on College Campuses who claim to be “progressive” yet spew antisemitism because they are getting their misinformation from a Chinese propaganda machine like TikTok. They are just as hateful and ignorant as the MAGA morons they claim to hate. As Obama said this is a complex crisis and nobody’s hands are clean. So to vilify Biden the one person who sees both sides of this problem and is tirelessly working towards getting the American captives freed. While simultaneously providing humanitarian relief to those innocent civilians suffering and supporting a two-state solution seems shortsighted and counterproductive. If you don’t believe me just ask yourself WWTD? WHAT WOULD TRUMP DO? If you really think that he would have a compassionate and complex response to protect the innocent people on both sides. Then you are blinded by your anger and are complicit in fueling the violence on both sides. As Obama stated about this war, that it “requires an admission of complexity” and no one person has done that more than President Joe Biden.
