If Mike Johnson plans to keep his job after the holidays and avoid being voted off the island as leader of the misfit toys that make up the House Republican Majority. Donald Trump will have to convince his sycophants in the House of Rep’s Freedom Caucus. That Johnson is the MAGA movement’s best bet at furthering their extreme political agenda. For his backing of Johnson, Trump most likely would expect the Speaker to return the favor if the election results are too close to call. Let’s hope that isn’t the case, and the House of Representatives doesn’t get a chance to settle an electoral deadlock.
With Trump and Johnson at the helm of the GOP one half of the country’s two-party political system. The 2024 elections will have a profound impact on the future of our democracy. If even one American doesn’t vote because they are frustrated with the current state of the country. Wait till they see the authoritarian religious nightmare this nation could easily become with a Republican victory in the Presidency and the Congress due to low voter turnout.
Yes, there are plenty of problems with the current state of the country. However, if you’re paying attention you’d see it all stems from the Republicans’ inability to do even the basic functions of governance. Their entire political agenda consists of stripping the rights of women, minorities, and LGBTQ+ Americans just so they can maintain power. While they try to block Democrats from fighting to protect those who are targeted by Republican policies. Democrats strive to make the lives of working-class citizens easier: by lowering prescription prices, assisting with College Tuition, enacting childcare programs that eradicate child poverty, and creating more high-paying jobs just to name a few of their goals. President Biden still has many more campaign promises that he wants to enact that will help the average American citizen. However unless he’s given a second term with a democratic majority in Congress, Republicans will continue to stifle popular Democratic initiatives. The only way real progress can be achieved is if everyone votes for the candidates that have your interests at heart. Unless you want a dictator whose only allegiance is to himself and his billionaire donor buddies you must always vote blue no matter what.
