(CNN)- “Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is resigning from Congress and will leave at the end of this year, he announced in a Wall Street Journal op-ed on Wednesday — a highly anticipated decision that comes two months after his unprecedented ouster from the speakership.
McCarthy’s decision will narrow the House GOP’s already historically slim majority, which just last week got smaller after the expulsion of ex-Rep. George Santos of New York. How much room Republicans have to work with next year will depend on the outcome of a handful of special elections in 2024.”
You might think that I am above saying “I told you so!”, but sadly, I’m not. In fact, sometimes I enjoy it, just ask my ex-wife. Especially under circumstances like this, where try-hard narcissist Kevin McCarthy vehemently denied reports of his resignation at the end of the year, back on October 6th. Just because sources, not McCarthy, broke the news. Instead of acknowledging his future resignation, he was, going around boasting to anyone who would listen to him about it. He called those people he told, who were the sources, liars. Yet here we are, celebrating the same news we knew back in October because Kevin McCarthy had a chance to pen a self-fellating op-ed that he can now hang next to his self-portrait in his home office.
That is Kevin McCarthy in a nutshell. A flip-flopping politician who consistently lies to your face just so he can get what he wants. Let’s look back on a few of his low-lights that further reveal his political bait-and-switch actions. There’s his famous speech after the January 6th insurrection, condemning Donald Trump for inciting the violence that day. This was then followed by his visit to Mar-A-Largo to resurrect Trump from teetering on the edge of political obscurity just three weeks later. The only reason he made that decision was because he needed Trump’s blessing if McCarthy would ever have a chance to become the Speaker. On behalf of democracy lovers everywhere, he can go f@ck himself for that one.
His self-serving 180 wasn’t only with Trump. Liz Cheney, George Santos, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Ukraine, and even Qanan were all recipients of McCarthy’s penchant for differing his viewpoints throughout the years. President Joe Biden also saw his flip-flopping firsthand, as the two men agreed upon a budget after McCarthy held the nation hostage by refusing to raise the debt ceiling. With a budgetary compromise in hand, as was his demand. McCarthy quickly reneged on the deal putting the country once again on the brink of a government shutdown a few months later.

At one point McCarthy even promised an impeachment inquiry vote on Biden, which he immediately decided against, and then somehow McCarthy blamed Nancy Pelosi for his indecision. Even when he was ousted from his dream job as Speaker. He vowed that he would not put himself back in the running for the position. However, multiple sources reported that during the whole process, McCarthy was sabotaging each candidate and undermining the proceedings. Simultaneously he built a coalition of McCarthy supporters to regain his seat. He refused to take down his “Speaker of the House” sign above his office well after he was ousted. Not until Mike Johnson took over the Speakership did McCarthy finally decide it was time to take it down. That doesn’t sound like a man who had no ambition of returning as the rightful owner of the gavel.
McCarthy will go down as the G.O.A.T., just not as being the Greatest Speaker as he will probably tell everyone he comes into contact with from here on out. No McCarthy was quite possibly the worst Speaker ever to have the title, but Mike Johnson could easily take that away from McCarthy too. But when it comes to flip-flops McCarthy has no equal. I once said, that McCarthy, had more flip-flops than Hampton Beach on the 4th of July weekend and I, unlike McCarthy, stand by my words.
