(CNN) — “Matt Schlapp, the influential chairman of the American Conservative Union, is facing additional allegations of sexual assault that apparently took place before the incident that launched a more than $9 million sexual misconduct lawsuit against him last year.
According to new reporting, based on court documents obtained by The Washington Post, Schlapp was also accused of sexual misconduct twice before – first in 2017 and then in early 2022. The updated court filing alleges the incidents were reported to staffers of the American Conservative Union, which hosts the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, but “no action was taken against Schlapp,” according to The Post.”

Matt Schlapp is the chairman of the Conservative Political Action Conference known as CPAC and the American Conservative Union (ACU). He is facing continued pressure from multiple allegations of sexual misconduct against male staffers. Schlapp, who has a wife and five daughters is also a close ally to known sexual deviant Donald Trump.
The CPAC is an annual political conference attended by conservative activists and elected officials from across the United States and throughout the world. It’s considered by some to be the Super Bowl of rich white Right-Wingers looking to completely destroy democracies around the globe. Ok maybe not some, but I’m sure I could find a few people who would agree with that description.
Due to the allegations against the chairman and concerns over the organization’s finances. There has been a mass exodus of board members. Including Bob Beauprez, Randy Neugebauer, Mike Rose, Timothy Ryan, and most recently Charlie Gerow. Gerow who had served on the board of CPAC for nearly 20 years. Submitted his resignation this past Friday.
“With his departure, Gerow is calling on the board to authorize an independent investigation into sexual battery allegations made against Matt Schlapp, as well as an independent forensic audit of the organization’s finances, he said in a statement to POLITICO.”
According to the Washington Post. “Earlier this year, Schlapp was sued for alleged sexual battery and defamation by a Republican campaign operative who claimed that the CPAC leader groped his crotch during a campaign trip last fall.”

Adding “In addition to that lawsuit, some board members and staffers have been told about other incidents involving Schlapp, 55, and two younger men, multiple people with direct knowledge of the situation said.
In one incident, a staffer said Schlapp attempted to kiss him while drinking late after a work function in 2017. The staffer also provided documentation from that night to The Washington Post showing physical contact that the staffer said was unsolicited.
In another incident, Schlapp allegedly made unwanted physical advances on someone else’s employee during a CPAC business trip in Palm Beach, Fla., in early 2022, according to multiple people informed of the incident.”

It seems as though these mounting allegations continue to add up within conservative circles. I recently covered the story of a major Trump supporter who was convicted of child sex trafficking crimes. So it should come as no surprise, to those who have watched the Republican Party be taken over by the likes of Trump, Schlapp, and the rest of their shady allies.
As the Greek Philosopher Aesop wrote, “A man is known by the company he keeps”. This quote is over 2500 years old, yet it still hits the mark just as much today. It’s clear to those who aren’t “sleepwalking into a dictatorship” that the state of the conservative political movement is more frightening than having Bill Cosby mix you a drink. Unless Republican voters nationwide rid themselves of these alleged criminals and sexual deviants. Whom they have in-trusted to lead their party even through countless allegations. If that is the type of behavior you want in your elected officials and their political backers. Doesn’t that ultimately say more about the GOP voters being complicit in electing these perverse individuals into office? It feels as though these stories of Republican hypocrisy and corruption have become a daily occurrence. As much as it makes my job a whole lot easier, nearly half the country is supporting these candidates and Party leaders. I can’t imagine Schlapp’s wife and daughters can be too thrilled with their father playing grab ass with every male staffer that he can get his hands on. However, the Republican base will do their best to cast doubt on the victims and find a false equivalence so they can look themselves in the mirror, defending the un-defendable without shame.
