(Meidas Touch Network)—“On Truth Social, Trump posted a video with the caption, “God made Trump.” In the video, a narrator explains “God gave us Trump” because he was looking for certain qualities God allegedly needed in a leader including a “caretaker,” and working long hours. Trump, who said he would be a president who never took vacations, spent over 400 days visiting Trump properties while president.
This latest video echoes the teachings we’ve seen by Christian nationalists who make Trump out as a divine figure sent by God to save the world. American Christian nationalists have not just woven Trump into their faith, they’ve placed him on the throne and are rewriting, ignoring, and breaking away from historic teachings on helping the poor, migrants, and upholding justice as these conflict with their MAGA agenda.
Interestingly, the video includes footage of Melania, who hasn’t made appearances with Trump for quite some time. In what appears to be a possible dig at Melania, the video claims God needed someone like Trump who, despite being hungry, would patiently wait on his wife to finish a long lunch with her friends and invite them to come back soon and mean it. Footage then shows Melania stumbling as she walks with Trump toward Marine One.”
Thank you Hunter S Thompson for writing one of the best books of all time that was the basis for the movie quote above. The only commonality between “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” and that Trump commercial however is that both make you feel like you’re taking crazy pills while watching them. How can any sane person, watch that self-righteous propaganda campaign advertisement, without either laughing at its absurdity or being nauseated that some Christian Nationalist might believe this false prophet circle jerk?
It should come as no surprise that the lower your education level the more likely you are to be a MAGAT. I mean the Venn diagram of Trump supporters and Howard Stern’s “wack pack” members is a perfect circle. With the high water mark of that cast of characters, collective I.Q. maxing out a few short of 80.
But who could blame “Tan Mom” and company for supporting Trump when his entire campaign is built on manipulation? His latest commercial is the perfect example of how he targets more than just the unintelligent. He preys upon God-fearing people too, by comparing himself to the Messiah. Suggesting a vote against Trump is a direct disregard of God’s will. Of course, a large number of American citizens know better than to believe such an outrageous statement. Yet they still support Trump. Those are the enablers and the complicit Right-Wingers who have sold the soul of the nation for selfish reasons.
It’s one thing to be tricked by disinformation if you lack the mental capacity to separate facts from fiction. What’s far more devious is going along for the ride when you know the game has been rigged. Solely because you share the same prejudices as Trump. It’s why Republican politicians and clergy leaders are cowards for not calling Trump out for commercials like this one. The whole world is watching in disgust as America’s GOP props up a wannabe dictator while Billions of people would kill to live in a democracy like the one the United States may soon give away. It makes me wonder, what the late great Hunter S. Thompson would think of Trump’s Ad?
