Hunter Biden Is Playing Chess While House Republicans Can’t Even Play Tic-Tac-Toe!!!

(CNN)–“Hunter Biden unexpectedly made a short appearance at a Capitol Hill hearing Wednesday as House Republicans were starting the process of holding the president’s son in criminal contempt of Congress for not complying with a congressional subpoena to sit for a closed-door deposition last month.

Both the House Oversight and House Judiciary committees, which subpoenaed the president’s son for his testimony as part of the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, are holding separate markups of the contempt resolution. Hunter Biden walked through the halls of Congress with his lawyers outside the Oversight Committee hearing, creating a tumultuous scene inside and outside the committee room as lawmakers debated what to do.

Hunter’s appearance was reminiscent of how he approached the subpoena last month. Instead of sitting for his deposition, Hunter Biden held a news conference outside the Capitol and has said he will only testify in a public setting. House Republicans maintained they were willing to hold a public hearing with the president’s son, but only after he sat for a private interview. After the younger Biden did not appear for his deposition, House Oversight Chair James Comer and House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan issued a joint statement announcing they would begin contempt proceedings.

In a statement, Hunter Biden’s lawyer Abbe Lowell said they offered to engage with House Republicans on Oversight six times but allege instead, Comer sought a subpoena for a closed-door deposition.

“Ignoring that invitation and proving again that they cared little for the truth and wanted only to ‘move the needle of political support’ that Chairman Comer confessed was his purpose, the Republican chairs have today commandeered an unprecedented resolution to hold someone in contempt who has offered to publicly answer all their proper questions,” Lowell said. “What are they afraid of?””

Oh boy!! That was political theater at its finest. Hunter Biden showing up for his own contempt hearing and putting House Republicans into a mental tailspin. Once again, Hunter shows that while he is busy mastering political chess, the House Republicans are in full-blown panic mode Googling the rules for Congressional Tic-Tac-Toe.

Republicans were so shocked by his appearance that Nancy Mace called it “White Privilege”. Coming from a woman whose sole reason for being elected was because the Republicans gerrymandered her district is quite comical. If that isn’t the snowflake calling the Polar Bear white, I don’t know what is. Not to mention Marjorie Taylor Greene being surprised by Hunter walking out of the chamber as she began to speak. Believe me, MTG, if the entire Congress was allowed to get up and walk out on you when you’re allotted time to address the House begins. You’d be speaking to more empty rooms than Vivek Ramaswamy performs his douche chill-inducing Eminem karaoke to.

I for one am loving the new attitude of Hunter Biden. These same Republicans are acting mortified that he has decided to stick up for himself and refuse to participate in their orchestrated attack on him and his family. When they’re the sleazy Right Wingers who have dragged the Biden family through the wringer. They have publicly released nude photographs of this man and invaded his privacy as a non-governmental civilian. Let’s not forget how they even went as far as to steal his laptop and used his troubled past to destroy his loving father’s name. So I don’t blame him one bit for fighting back. It must feel great after the years of torture Republicans have put his family through.

Hunter will not have his testimony held behind closed doors falsely reported by the same people who claimed his business partner is their best piece of evidence. When Devin Archer’s closed-door session proved President Biden’s innocence, but was leaked by James Comer and Jim Jordan that he exposed corruption from the Biden’s. Lying to the press and the American people so they can whitewash their own coverups of Donald Trump’s crimes. This is the same Jim Jordan who refused to testify when he was subpoenaed for his knowledge regarding Trump’s January 6th involvement. Republican hypocrisy is often discussed but this dog and pony show just highlights how off-the-charts hypocritical the Republican Party is.

Hunter has been willing and available to speak under oath in a public forum. So good luck to Republicans getting someone to prosecute him for contempt. If anything, from the behavior of the House GOP, they should be the ones looking down the barrel of prosecutors for their contempt of the rule of law. Never mind their efforts to erode our democracy and the Constitution they swore to uphold.
