(CNN) —“Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr. have come to the defense of a one time social media influencer who has been convicted of election interference and has a well-known history of pushing deeply racist, antisemitic, anti-Muslim and homophobic content online.
In a video posted by his campaign in early December, former President Trump blasted President Joe Biden and “his henchmen” for allegedly trampling on the First Amendment rights of Douglass Mackey, a longtime supporter of the former president who ran an anonymous, notorious Twitter account in 2016. Trump accused Biden of seeking to jail Mackey for “sharing a joking meme about Hillary Clinton several years ago. Nobody ever heard of anything like that.”
Mackey, however, was under federal investigation for conspiracy to suppress votes in the 2016 presidential election during Trump’s administration. Mackey was charged seven days after Biden took office and convicted earlier this year. He was sentenced to seven months in prison but is currently out pending an appeal of his case.
Prosecutors said Mackey, 34, targeted Black voters on Twitter with a tweet meant to look like a campaign advertisement that falsely claimed they could vote for Clinton through text messages during the 2016 election.
On Twitter, Mackey had regularly shared racist caricatures of people of color, amplified demeaning stereotypes and belittled entire groups with racial slurs. He used the N-word in multiple posts, and he described Black people as “feral.” Antisemitism was another popular theme for him, and he routinely shared memes reminiscent of Nazi propaganda.”

This story caught my attention because it has something I like to refer to as a MAGA Slam. A collection of any four Trumpisms within a single article. Let’s check the tape to make sure we hit the necessary number to complete the seldomly reached feet. It contains Trump blaming Biden for something he did. Check!! It supports racism and antisemitism. Check!!! It has election interference. Check!!! Finally, it has mistakenly referenced crimes as First Amendment Rights. Check!!! MAGA SLAM!! Check!!!
As far as the nuts and bolts of the article goes, for all the wrongfully convicted people in America deserving of the support of a former President. Looking to highlight the injustices of the two-tiered Justice System has on the underprivileged. Trump decides to pick a blatantly racist whose crime was committed to disenfranchise minority voters. Which his Administration was responsible for the investigation and building the criminal case against Douglas Mackey. Owner of Trump and his son Jr.’s favorite Natzi Sympathizer and bigot account called Ricky Vaughn.
The audacity for Trump to whittle those facts down to “Biden sent a Twitter MAGAT to prison for a Hilary Clinton joke!” If no one was dumb enough to believe such an unfounded accusation maybe we could laugh at the complete disregard for the truth. Sadly, my guess is that 35% of Americans believe in that total fabrication of a sentence because Trump said it. That’s why when Trump spews total nonsense-filled lies it’s terrifying because his simpleton followers tend to fall for all of his grifts.
I’ve never seen a more pathetic group than MAGATS, constantly believing total bull 💩. When it’s easier now than at any time in history to find out the truth. Every single one of those buffoons has a high-powered computer in their hands most of the day. Yet they remain completely unaware of the reality all around them. You would think that at this point we would be more resistant to disinformation and false rhetoric.
However, it’s that same pocket-sized information highway that steered us towards an “idiocracy” state. Back before the internet on the go, there were all sorts of stupidity across the country. But some dummy in Texas couldn’t gather with other lack-minded individuals throughout the nation. It’s as if the morons unionized in cyberspace and have anointed their leader Donald Trump. They see a lot more of themselves in him than they are totally unaware of. Lying to themselves and others. Check!! Have racist and antisemitic tendencies. Check!! A vindictive bully who is overly sensitive. Check!! Tend to be a narcissist who overlooks their many failures while over-inflating their accomplishments. Check!! They love Trump because he is one of their own.
That is the double-edged sword that the cell phone has been on society. The irony that the democratization of ignorance will be the downfall of democracy doesn’t go unnoticed. If you are thinking “Wow that’s such a Meta example!” Don’t forget you also just witnessed a MAGA Slam within a MAGA Slam. A MAGA SLAM squared!! Check!!You’re Welcome!!!
