FAKE BIDEN A.I. ROBO-CALL
(CNN) — “A robocall that appears to be an AI voice resembling President Joe Biden is reaching out to New Hampshire residents, advising them against voting in Tuesday’s presidential primary and saving their vote for the November general election.
Audio of the call was reviewed by CNN from the anti-robocall application Nomorobo. Their tracking data suggests a large volume of calls. It’s unclear who is behind the call.
“Republicans have been trying to push nonpartisan and Democratic voters to participate in their primary. What a bunch of malarkey,” says the digitally-altered Biden voice. “We know the value of voting Democratic when our votes count. It’s important that you save your vote for the November election. We’ll need your help in electing Democrats up and down the ticket. Voting this Tuesday only enables the Republicans in their quest to elect Donald Trump again.”
Aaron Jacobs, a spokesperson for Write-In Biden, said in a statement, “This is deep fake disinformation designed to harm Joe Biden, suppress votes, and damage our democracy,” adding that the group remains “focused on one goal until polls close on Tuesday: encouraging Granite Staters to write-in Joe Biden.””
Here we are ladies and gentlemen, the future of AI interfering in free and fair elections is upon us. Of course, Republican operatives would be the ones to use such a powerful tool for their evil political agenda. It was never a question of if the GOP would implement the supercomputer programs to manipulate the electorate. It’s always been a question of when they would unleash it on unsuspecting citizens. That time is here and now!
Republicans have been rapidly filling their bag of illegal political tricks to maintain their loosening grip on power. Gerrymandering, disinformation pushed through conservative media, legislation passed to disenfranchise minority voters, and now their most powerful political weapon, deep fakes generated by Artificial Intelligence. If strategically placed AI could have devastating effects on people who are not computer savvy or informed enough to believe everything that they see and hear online.
The importance of verifying information may be the difference between saving our democracy or succumbing to the threats created to fool the masses. Always remember that unless you are getting your information from a trusted source consume political content with a critical eye. Never believe what you read on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, along with others. These sites are ground zero for deep fakes and misinformation, so never share anything until you have double-checked the facts. Otherwise, you will be part of the growing problem, when the country is relying on you to be involved in the solution.
Imagine if the Democratic Party decided to play in the political mud with Republicans. It would be like shooting MAGA fish in a barrel. Right-wing supporters believe every ridiculous lie they have been spoon-fed by Republican officials and conservative media. If Democrats ever wanted to disenfranchise the Republican base they would have to look no further than how the GOP treats their own constituents. You can tell the MAGA crowd that “gullible” isn’t in the dictionary, and their response would be “Really???”. It gets them every time. There is a glaring educational divide between the two parties. The modern MAGA movement is full of the uneducated, while most of today’s Democratic base is highly educated.
What really separates, Democrats from their Republican rivals? Is, that the Democrats, play by the rules and adhere to campaign laws enacted to protect the American people from being hoodwinked. Republicans would lose their minds if Democrats ever pulled the deceptive political stunts that are commonplace on the Right. Yes, having the moral high ground matters, but what if the cost comes at the expense of our treasured democracy? So please, stay vigilant and skeptical, so we can continue fighting against the MAGATS across the country. Until they lose enough elections and have no choice but to abandon their Lord and Savior loser leader Trump.
