Clark slams MAGA Republicans for pushing their anti-abortion bill known as the Pregnant Students Rights Act (PSRA), wanting to promote anti-abortion propaganda and so much more. In addition, Rep. Ilhan Omar joins Katherine Clark in bashing the MAGA Republicans for wanting to hurt women’s reproductive rights.
Welcome to the “Daily Hypocrite”! A spot-on description for what we examine on a daily basis here. Between the Right Wing Politicians and its supportive propaganda instrument in Conservative Media. The stories of hypocrisy seem infinite and come at such a rapid pace. It’s impossible to keep up with every single example of it, but I promise to try my best.
Today we have a couple, my fellow Masshole (It’s a term of endearment at this point) Katherine Clark doing the heavy lifting when it comes to exposing the deceitful new Anti-Abortion bill Republicans are now pushing. Clark’s masterful contrast, of what this legislation pretends to be versus what the contents are, was informative and revealing.
Republicans have been calling their stance on women’s reproductive rights “Pro-Life” for as long as it’s been a political issue. But maybe “Anti-Choice” would be a better description of their stance on the topic. Seeing as soon as a child is born, that’s where Republicans want nothing more to do with supporting that life in any meaningful way. Not only do “Conservatives” want to defund every single government program intended to protect children and their families from succumbing to poverty. They strip away women’s rights to decide if the potential poverty that having a child in certain circumstances is what is best for them.
So who is this “life” that Republicans are “Pro” it certainly isn’t the kid that is born into a food insecure family. Or the struggling Mother who wants nothing more than to give her children every opportunity they deserve. But are forced to jump through hoops set up by those same Republicans just to meet the basic needs of a young human being. GOP policies have never made the lives of the lower and middle classes better in any way shape or form. That is why they cloak these anti-abortion: bills and Christian-run clinics, in language that misrepresents what their ultimate purpose is. That is to coerce women into making decisions based solely on archaic religious beliefs of the Right Wing. Not what medically or financially benefits such a personal choice as family management.
According to every statistic available Republican states consistently rank at the bottom when it comes to child poverty, childcare access, child mortality rates, educational rankings, and postpartum care. Something that Sarah Huckabee Sanders found out the hard way when she went on “Face The Nation”. Where she was there to promote her initiative that “allows” state government Mothers to bring their two-month-old child to work with them. As if that helps a brand new parent who works in state government balance child care and career maintenance. It sounds like the state government is the only winner in that scenario. Certainly adding to the stress of a government position by adding a newborn to the equation is doubling down on a Mother’s nightmare scenario, not fixing it.
So when it comes down to it, the only “life” benefiting from Republican policies over reproductive rights are Christian Organizations and State Governments. Maybe “Pro-Christian Government” should be the name of their movement. Both that and “Anti-Choice” do have a good ring to them. Then it is settled, I now proudly name Sara Huckabee Sanders as the recipient of the first-ever “Daily Hypocrite” award for “Anti-Choice/Pro-Christian Government” “Hypocrite” of the Day! Congratulations to the Alabama Governor on her win. As you’ll see in the video below, she needs a W after her embarrassing performance on national television and the resulting condemnation from Bryan Tyler Cohen. Enjoy!!
