(Newsweek)–Donald Trump sparked a wave of jokes and memes after suggesting that he resembles Elvis Presley. The former president shared a photo on his Truth Social platform that showed his face spliced with the King of Rock and Roll’s face.
“For so many years, people have been saying that Elvis and I look alike,” Trump wrote in the post. “Now this pic has been going all over the place. What do you think?”
Trump has a penchant for comparing himself to well-known figures. He has long attempted to draw comparisons between himself and Abraham Lincoln, and more recently, said he was like Nelson Mandela.
Many took to social media to mock Trump’s suggestion that he looks like Elvis, as well as question his mental state. Newsweek has contacted the Trump campaign for comment via email.
Trump “randomly posting that he looks like Elvis (he does not)” and other recent gaffes “has people finally seeing just how delusional, cognitively impaired, and utterly weird Trump’s campaign is,” Ben Meiselas, a co-founder of MeidasTouch, wrote on X, formerly Twitter.”

It’s not often that a story about Donald Trump gets a chuckle out of me. Usually, it’s more of an “I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!!” type of reaction when reading the latest news on the self-proclaimed Dictator and Chief. So when I came upon this recent post about how Trump believes he is the mirror image of Elvis Presley. I was absolutely caught off guard by the comparison, while simultaneously I wasn’t surprised in the slightest bit.
It’s no well-kept secret that Trump is delusional on a George Santos-like level. However to have verified info that when he looks at himself in his reflection he sees one of the most handsome men to walk the earth, is still staggering. My favorite part of the post is when Trump fabricates that people have been telling him his whole life how Elvis could be his doppelgänger. Only the severest case of malignant narcissism and color blindness would embolden an ugly portly man who’s a shade darker than Cheeto dust. To compare his appearance to that of a tall, dark, and handsome musical icon. Who routinely ignited adoring audiences of women into a love-struck frenzy. It underscores Trump is even further down the demented path than even his most staunch detractors could’ve possibly realized.
It makes you wonder what other characteristics and traits Trump sees in himself that come in direct contradiction with reality. Does the tiny-handed Trump consider himself to have the legendary enormous mitts of “Andre the Giant”? Is it possible Donald hears the voice of James Earl Jones when he listens back to his speeches? The “Darth Vader” character of Jones may have the same political ambitions as Trump. But Jones’ commanding voice couldn’t be more of a contrast to Trump’s whiny schoolyard bully tone.

This is obviously the result of a lifetime filled with being surrounded by yes men and women. Coupled with the cult-like base he has built his political career upon. When you’ve completely enveloped yourself with a bunch of sycophants. Who tells you, that your 💩 smells like a Hawaiian breeze, as Donald has. Don’t be shocked when Trump responds by saying “You’re welcome” when he farts in a crowded elevator.
So for as much blame as Trump deserves for the plethora of hideous things he’s said and done over the years. He is way too far removed from sanity to hold him accountable at this point. What disturbs me is that his followers still accept his awful behavior and deplorable views as gospel. If Trump isn’t the definition of a false prophet, to his legions of worshipping Christian nationalists. Then they are just as delusional as the crazed and confused tangerine-colored politician himself. Or as Donald would prefer to be called the “Elvis” esque Trump.
