(Meidas Touch Network)–“Desperate times call for desperate measures, and a full takeover of the RNC was in order to turn it into a full-time operation to elect Trump. There will be no daylight between the mission of the RNC and Donald Trump now – it will exist to serve him. Everything the RNC normally does for other Republican candidates around the country at the federal, state and local level will immediately dry up. Trump isn’t interested in all of that, therefore the RNC will not be either.
Trump is installing a triumvirate of loyalists to take over. Election denying conspiracy theorist Michael Watley will be one Chair, Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara will be the other Chair, and Trump’s current campaign manager Chris LaCivita will serve as CEO. No conflicts there! We really should have seen this coming at the 2020 RNC convention when, for the very first time, they failed to implement a party platform with a detailed policy agenda. The platform consisted in one thing – loyalty to Donald Trump.
Lara also has no real serious experience working on campaigns or serving as a campaign consultant. Just like putting Jared Kushner in charge of foreign policy, domestic policy, trade policy, and COVID-19 policy in the White House, qualifications for the job are not the most important criteria for Trump. Loyalty is paramount.
It is inconceivable that the RNC could ever act as an independent body after installing this leadership team. It will be completely controlled by Trump. But the election statutes and campaign finance laws that govern the RNC are far stricter than the slush-fundy PACs that Trump has become accustomed to pillaging. Given the fact that Trump failed to comprehend that the US government wasn’t his personal property when he was president, there is no way that the RNC will operate in a legal fashion from this point forward”

This story most likely won’t receive the media scrutiny that it certainly deserves, but that doesn’t make it any less disturbing. It’s another giant step towards authoritarian control that Donald Trump seeks to impose on the Republican Party. Trump is desperate to keep using the Republican Party’s funding as a personal piggy bank for his criminal defense fees. With his appointment of this cast of sympathizers and family members, he can ensure that any oversight of his corruption will be purposefully ignored.
Just as other criminal organizations and dictatorships have done throughout history. Installing family in positions of power to squash any real competition and funneling money up to their leader is page one directions of “Authoritarian For Dummies”. Insulating the “Boss” from any potential party detractors is a surefire strategy to keep the underlings from future attempts to undermine Trump’s hold on power in the Republican Party. With this move appearing imminent, no longer will Trump have to play by the rules of the party. Once it’s implemented it’s the party that will have to play by Trump’s rules going forward.

The GOP has been on a collision course since they first nominated Trump as their Presidential candidate in 2016. But to be completely taken over in only eight years by someone so flawed and politically divisive. Shows the lack of morality and absence of policies for a political party whose only ideology at its core is social unrest. Trump was never a political powerhouse, even his business resume was littered with failures. Yet he has singled handily conned his way to the top of the GOP ticket with little to no resistance from the Republican establishment.
His alarming rise to power should’ve ultimately been squashed after the insurrection he orchestrated on January 6th. It was the perfect off-ramp, for Republicans looking to take back control of their party. Instead, they further emboldened Trump, by making excuses for his actions and not holding him accountable. Although the GOP deserves whatever irreparable harm their complicity has inflicted on the defection of moderates. It’s the right wing, not the entire country who should pay for their misdeeds. Trump will never quench his thirst for money and power. So once again it’s incumbent upon Democrats to defend the nation and the world from Republican incompetence. Democracy, economic stability, and global security are all relying upon us to do what Republicans should’ve done years ago. Send Donald Trump packing for good this time.
