(Meidas Touch Network)–“Donald Trump has used Alexei Navalny’s death as a means to further his own political agenda, commenting for the first time about the Russian opposition leader since his death last week. Trump, in a new post on Truth Social, used Navalny’s death to discuss his opinions on Democratic politicians and policies here int he United States. He asserted that Navalny’s death made Trump more aware of what is happening in the United States, and asserting that America is a nation in decline.
These latest statements are unsurprising. While President, Trump had been extremely sympathetic to Vladimir Putin and at times refused to publicly comment about Navalny and offer his own words of support for the opposition leader. And, since launching his latest campaign for President, Trump has been publicly critical of any attempt to provide additional support to Ukraine, embracing Vladimir Putin on the campaign trial again. Because of Trump’s anti-Ukraine stance, Congressional Republicans have followed his lead by refusing to pass any new aid to Ukraine.”
The first time Donald Trump decided to address the death of Russian political activist and prisoner Alexi Navalny wasn’t to condemn the circumstances surrounding his tragic death. Of course not, he is way too self-involved and delusional to even consider such a common courtesy response. Especially because he wouldn’t dare cross his Russian sugar daddy and fellow dictator-in-chief Vladimir Putin. The man who was ultimately responsible for Navalny’s devastatingly sudden death.
Instead, Trump selfishly used Navalny’s demise as a false equivalence to his criminal behavior. Navalny was a champion of democracy and a fearless detractor of Putin’s corruption and reign of terror against the people of Russia. Putin was so fearful of his political opposition that he had him poisoned. When that didn’t stop Navalny from speaking out against the horrific atrocities Putin committed against his fellow citizens. He had Navalny jailed as soon as he stepped foot back onto Russian soil. Sending his political rival to a Siberian prison where he succumbed to the torturous conditions. If Trump resembles anyone in that scenario it’s obviously Putin, not Navalny.
The only courageous bone Trump has ever had in his body is if Stormy Daniels stuck a finger up his ass. So for him to compare his ongoing attack on democracy and his contempt of the Constitution to being a victim of political persecution is deceitful at best. His heinous propaganda is intended to further undermine the rule of law and muddy the waters. Trump has such a penchant for distortion and projection of his own faults and wrongdoings. You would think Mar-A-Largo was located in “the wonderful world of make-believe” where “Opposite Day” is celebrated year-round.
The only thing keeping Trump from being the exact type of leader that Putin is. Was his inability to orchestrate a successful coup against the government and overturn the will of the people. You don’t get the honor of comparing yourself to Navalny. When the reality is you’re just a failed version of Putin. There’s a huge difference between being held accountable for your unlawful actions and being brutally punished for your opinions. It’s what separates the United States from places like Russia. This was the sole reason Navalny desired to succeed Putin so he could make Russia function more like the U.S.. If Trump, on the other hand, were to return to office in November he would immediately install the Putin brand of justice to silence his critics. Navalny died to make sure men like Trump and Putin would never rise to power again. Let’s hope Americans understand that clear distinction. By respecting Navalny’s sacrifice and keeping Trump from ever becoming the Authoritarian Putin is.
