(Meidas Touch Network)–“Alabama Senator Katie Britt delivered an epically bad response to President Biden’s State of the Union speech last night. So bad, even MAGA Republicans who desperately wanted to love it couldn’t bring themselves to try and spin it positively.
To begin with, the atmospherics played into Democratic messaging that Republicans want all women to be married, christian, and in the kitchen – and she put all three on display wearing a cross on her necklace and delivering the speech in her kitchen. While there is nothing negative about any of that as an individual choice, Republican politicians have been pushing all women to conform to that when most have no interest in being told how they should live their lives by Republicans.
Britt’s speech also weirdly alternated between bubbly cheerfulness, then concern, then fake anger, then fake outrage, sometimes all within the span of five seconds, leading many to compare her performance to someone auditioning for a high school play for the first time. Naturally, people on the Left were going to criticize her speech. But most surprising was right-wing reaction, where they simply couldn’t hide their disappointment.
What did Trump think? Well, Trump is pretty heavily invested in Britt. He had endorsed MAGA Mo Brooks for Senate after he gave his fiery speech on J6 where he wore a bullet proof vest and told people in the crowd to start “kicking ass” right before they attacked cops. But then Brooks committed the cardinal sin at a Trump rally by suggesting that it was time to “move on” and stop obsessing over the 2020 election. That was it for Brooks, as Trump abandoned him and flipped his endorsement to Britt, who went on to win. Naturally, Trump loved the speech.”
Leave it to the Republican Party to force a Woman Senator to deliver her career-defining speech from her kitchen. As if that wasn’t embarrassing enough for Alabama’s MAGA Mom Katie ”Karen” Britt. She decided to approach her rebuttal to President Biden’s powerful State of the Union Address as if it were a crazed monologue from a church drama club rendition of “Gone Girl”. To say her cringe-inducing performance failed to meet the moment may be the understatement of a lifetime.
If I were to tell you yesterday, that the highlight of the evening, for Republicans. Was the stunning announcement that George Santos has decided to, once again, throw his “Drama Queen” bedazzled hat into the Party’s race for New York’s first Congressional District. You’d rightfully assume it was a good night for Democrats. Yes, the habitual liar and “Cameo” superstar, showed up to the State of the Union uninvited last night. Like a stocking ex-lover looking to crash his ex’s romantic prom night. Somehow that was the most impressive moment in an otherwise disastrous night for the GOP.
Republicans were sent into a full-blown meltdown after President Biden so skillfully made his case to the American electorate about his vision of a second Presidential term. The stark contrast between a constructive Democratic agenda and the kowtowing to Putin, his “predecessor” has promised. Painted a clear picture of which party has the best interests of We the People of the United States. However, Republicans felt embarrassed by having their lack of policy initiatives exposed on the biggest political stage there is.
In response, the Right Wing cry babies went into attack mode after the reality sank in that the truth does hurt when your policy platform is built on lies. Claiming Biden was “divisive and political”. The hypocrisy would be hilarious if it wasn’t so stunning. As their MAGA mascot Marjorie Taylor Greene was dressed head to toe in what can only be described as “The White Nationalist starter gear set” complete with a Vintage MAGA 2020 hat. Her outfit was a walking billboard for the politically divisive rhetoric that defines the culture within the present-day Republican establishment.
That juxtaposition between Democrats and Republicans was on full display last night. Let’s just hope the American voters were paying close enough attention. For those of you somehow still on the fence, about who to vote for. After such a heroic State of the Union speech, by the President. Followed up by the unhinged rantings of MAGA Mom and the petulant whining by the rest of the Trump-worshipping cult. Then maybe politics isn’t quite your strength, so do yourself and us democracy-loving people a favor. Take a nice relaxing vacation to a tropical paradise come November and spend some quality “me time” figuring it all out. But If things don’t happen to pan out back home as we’d hoped, then most of us will likely be joining you on your island getaway.
