(The Guardian)–“An American company that paid the now indicted FBI informant Alexander Smirnov in 2020 is connected to a UK company owned by Trump business associates in Dubai, according to business filings and court documents.
Smirnov is now accused of lying to the FBI about Hunter Biden and his father, President Joe Biden, alleging that they engaged in a bribery scheme with executives at the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Smirnov’s accounts to the FBI, beginning in 2020, that federal prosecutors now say are fabrications, served as a major justification of the House impeachment investigation into the Bidens.
Republican lawmakers have repeatedly touted Smirnov as a reliable informant, and the chairman of the House oversight committee, James Comer, even threatened to hold the FBI director, Christopher Wray, in contempt unless he “handed over” a June 2020 FBI form with Smirnov’s claims to the committee.
Back in 2020, Smirnov was paid $600,000 by a company called Economic Transformation Technologies (ETT), prosecutors said. That same year, Smirnov began lying to the FBI about the Bidens, according to the indictment.”

Amazing investigative journalism coming from The Guardian in their latest report. Pulling the strings to uncover the links tying Alexander Smirnov to Donald Trump. Shockingly Trump was so brazen in his attempts to undermine the credibility of President Joe Biden. That he allegedly allowed this Russian informant to be paid by colleagues with only one person serving as a buffer separating the involved parties from Trump.
Now I’m curious to see what the response from Republicans will be after learning this substantial information. Unless they were knowingly complicit in this orchestrated attack against our sitting President’s reputation. They better start distancing themselves from Trump and this fabricated impeachment inquiry as a whole. Otherwise, they’ll soon find out what it’s like to be on the receiving end of an FBI treason investigation.

When the story first broke detailing the Republicans “smoking gun witness” Smirnov was not the reliable source they were publicly boasting about. The political damage had already been done. His false accusations garnered extensive coverage from both conservative and mainstream media outlets alike. When in reality they had absolutely zero evidence tying the President to any of the Republican claims. Solely because it was Russian intelligence officials feeding the fake narrative to the American public via Smirnov, Republicans, and the overzealous American media.
Going on four years now the people of the United States have been victimized by Russian propaganda. With so many Americans at fault for the dissemination of these lies. How can you possibly understand the consequences resulting from such epic failures? President Biden and the entire U.S. population have been irreparably damaged. Due to Republicans spreading disinformation and the false equivalency created by mainstream media. We may never quite grasp the overall negative effects this misinformation will have on our democracy.
However, if Trump does get elected and decides to turn this country into a dictatorship. Trump won’t be the one deserving of the blame. He has been fairly transparent about his intentions all along. It’s the MAGA Republican apologists and those outlets amplifying their platforms whom history will never forgive. Putin and Trump have been conspiring together since day one. The evidence of that becomes clearer with every new verified revelation. At this point, you’d expect overwhelming backlash against Trump and his enablers. But if no one is willing to admit that they were wrong all along. By both backing Trump and the intense coverage he’s received. Then this coordinated assault to destabilize world democracy will proceed forward as previously scheduled. Sadly the decks have been stacked against President Biden and the Democrats. Let’s hope the nation wakes up to the scope of Russian influence on the Republican Party before “Sleepwalking into Dictatorship” is our ultimate fate.
