(CNN) — “Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. defended himself Friday from accusations of antisemitism while repeating unfounded claims about Covid-19 and vaccines.
In an interview with CNN’s Kasie Hunt, Kennedy, an avid opponent of Covid-19 vaccines and public health policies that were intended to reduce the spread of the virus pushed back on the notion that his previous remarks about Covid-19 that mentioned Jewish ancestry and history were antisemitic.
Asked about his comments from July in which he said Covid-19 was “ethnically targeted” to spare Ashkenazi Jews and Chinese people, Kennedy acknowledged that some people could be “disturbed” by the comments. But he said he believed “they certainly weren’t antisemitic.”
Kennedy also defended his comments from 2022 in which he compared the Covid lockdowns to Nazi Germany, arguing that “even in Hitler’s Germany, you could cross the Alps into Switzerland.” At the time, Kennedy’s wife, actress Cheryl Hines, condemned his remarks as “reprehensible and insensitive.” Kennedy said his wife was wrong to criticize the comments and blamed the media for taking his remarks out of context”.
Let me start by saying, I realize that RFK Jr will not be our next President. This is more of a warning to those who feel disappointed in the Biden/Trump rematch and are potentially considering voting for a 3rd party candidate like Kennedy.
Just Imagine the very real possibility of another deadly outbreak of a contagious virus. We all witnessed the Trump Administration’s dereliction of duty in response to the last crisis. Trump’s failures to maintain the Pandemic Response Team implemented by the Obama Administration directly led to the worldwide spread of COVID-19. So we already witnessed how devastating it would be if Trump were back in office and another outbreak occurred. Besides the total collapse of the World economy, we’d also endure the loss of millions of loved ones. Especially if this virus were substantially stronger than the coronavirus.
Now suppose you vote for RFK Jr, the most likely scenario would be Trump winning the election. Suffering the same disastrous consequences we just lived through. If by some wild chance, RFK Jr were to win. Take the carnage the entire World recently experienced under Trump’s failed leadership. Then compound that if President RFK Jr were at the helm. Kennedy has far more extreme anti-vaccination views than Republicans. Americans would have to rely upon other nations to finance a vaccine solution. If RFK Jr would veto American funding for a cure. Dropping the US further down the list of countries, waiting to benefit from foreign-backed vaccination initiatives.
The World relies heavily upon the United States being at the forefront of medical innovation and development. If our President was staunchly opposed to research and implementation of new vaccine technologies, the entire Planet would suffer the consequences. Another pandemic under the RFK Jr. administration could easily mutate into a World killer.
Has our collective memory of the COVID-19 pandemic conditions faded away that quickly? That people would, even consider voting for someone as opposed to scientific achievements as RFK Jr. He poses a direct threat to the health and financial well-being of citizens across the Globe. We also can’t overlook the dangers that voting for RFK Jr would have on our democracy. No matter if it’s Trump or Kennedy who ultimately benefits from an RFK Jr vote. Either way, you are willingly gambling with the safety of Earth’s population. While simultaneously jeopardizing democracy in America and abroad.
Please don’t be on the wrong side of history when you vote in November’s Presidential election. Every single Human around the Globe is counting on us to make the right decisions whether they know it or not. We truly have no choice but to make the sound decision. The world is watching and their lives just might depend on how we choose to vote. Sadly a Kennedy, Trump, or other third-party candidate choice may be the last vote you ever get to cast. Vote Biden/Harris because it’s truly the only way to ensure every American will retain the right to vote again.
