(Independent)–“Joe Biden has launched a brutal campaign advert in response to a post made by Donald Trump which asked voters if they were “better off” before his political rival took office.
The former president took to his social media platform earlier this week, writing, in his typical style of all capital letters: “ARE YOU BETTER OFF THAN YOU WERE FOUR YEARS AGO?”
On Thursday the Biden campaign posted a short clip to X, captioned: “Donald, I’m glad you asked.” The video, paid for by the president, contained a package of clips showing Mr Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. In it, Mr Trump is seen to be downplaying the mortality rate caused by the virus, responding to questions about the thousands of US deaths by saying “It is what it is.”’

Yes, little girl, life four years ago was truly as bleak as the new Biden commercial reminds us all of. Sadly the typical attention span of Americans is slightly longer than that of a goldfish. So a majority of people have obviously forgotten just how historically miserable conditions were under the Trump Administration.
Besides the 100-year pandemic, Trump was complicity responsible for spreading worldwide. Directly due to his ignorant decision to dismantle the Pandemic Response Team. Never mind the Country was also in the midst of nationwide protests against rampant racial injustices. Fueled by Trump’s divisive rhetoric and discriminatory policies. Unemployment was also at historic highs and the World’s economy was at the brink of total collapse on Trump’s watch.
As with other other ventures, Trump’s desire for increased power and personal wealth ultimately led to his Presidential failures through corrupt ideology. Trump, known for bankrupting casinos and bottled water companies alike. Had now ruined the health and financial well-being of Billions of unsuspecting people from around the Globe. How anyone could forget the catastrophic carnage, left in Trump’s wake, is beyond belief. Yet here we are just four years later with nearly half of Americans suffering from selective amnesia.

If it takes a consistent barrage of visual reminders of Trump’s failed leadership during his Presidency. Then it’s incumbent upon the Biden campaign to keep the effective advertising coming. Time may heal all wounds, but that doesn’t mean you should foolishly repeat the same mistakes that caused your pain in the first place.
If today’s population is inclined to forget the horrifying realities we faced as a nation. That doesn’t mean Trump’s incompetence hasn’t profoundly contributed to the inflation issues we still deal with now. Biden’s been tasked with rebuilding the lasting damage of Trump’s failures. Instead of recognizing President Biden’s historic achievements in this American comeback story. Biden endures undeserved criticism for the economic hole Trump left behind. It’s like blaming the carpenter for the mess the demolition team made. It takes a lot more work to build something back, no matter how quickly it was destroyed. Hopefully, increased advertising, of why Trump was removed in the first place. Can ultimately wake the electorate up from the American nightmare they are sleepwalking themselves into once again.
