(Meidas Touch Network)–“In what may be some of the most horrifying footage yet from the extremist forced-birth movement, undercover video from Hood County, Texas Democrats Chair Adrienne Quinn Martin shows several Hood County Republican officials attending a presentation by Abolish Abortion Texas (AATX), a group that advocates for the death penalty for abortion and IVF, including for pregnant minors.
Hood County Constable Scott London, Hood County GOP Chair Steve Biggers and Hood County GOP Chair candidate Greg Harrell are seen at a meeting featuring AATX hosted by the group True Texas Project, which has been labeled as an extremist group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, and has ties to white nationalist Nick Fuentes. True Texas Project has hosted events with Ted Cruz and disgraced Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. AATX also advocates for the outlawing of contraception and abortion even in cases of rape and incest. Scott London and Steve Harrell, along with multiple other Texas Republicans, have signed an AATX pledge to outlaw abortion in all cases.
Paul Brown, Director of Policy for AATX, can be seen saying at the meeting, “[Women’s lives] don’t matter any more than the babies they are killing.” In one segment of the video, Brown states that In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatments for infertile couples, which have an 86% approval rating among the American public, should also be considered abortion, and those who engage in these treatments should be charged with murder. “Other forms of abortion…would include IVF,” Brown is seen saying to the audience, “when a fertilized egg is created and is often times destroyed. Those that do are terminating or destroying a human life.””
With the obscene amounts of political content, I consume daily. You may think that I could’ve been desensitized to the horrifying rhetoric being spewed on the far right these days. Thankfully, disgusting videos like the tweet above shows, still profoundly impact me. It’s this type of fear-based religious hatred, that fuels me to further expose, the terrifying agenda Republicans are actively pursuing.
The self-righteous entitlement of the Christian Nationalist movement is limitless. Their platform is oozing with hypocrisy and soaked with evil intentions. Even the Pope himself has condemned this deranged faction of Christian followers. For twisting religious beliefs to fit their sickening political ideology. He’s publicly denounced American Conservatives inspired by political ignorance, even questioning their motives for such hate-based views. The Pope also points out that worshippers obsessed with Christian extremism in the US, have misinterpreted the basic principles of Christ’s teachings.
I’ve often wondered why religion has been the cause of so much violence and death around the world throughout history. When most religions claim to represent the good of humanity. To me, the fatal misconception in all religions is that they profess to preach the word of God. Yet it always comes straight from the mouths of men. Which ultimately leads to a corrupted translation along the way. Humans are inherently flawed thus they can’t be trusted to speak on God’s behalf.
So for those Christian Nationalists looking to execute women because of a life-saving procedure. Maybe you should double-check your sources of information including those of the Bible. Because, the same way you’ve been duped into believing the Right Wing Media’s lies today. How are you certain the people writing the Gospel from 2000 plus years ago can also be trusted with your morality? How about those who told you Trump is trustworthy? Obviously, there’s a track record you may want to consider second-guessing. Using your rational logic and intellect to discover the truth can be quite empowering. Rather than relying solely upon others to fill your mind with their desired propaganda. You just might find yourself feeling accomplished and fulfilled. Because allowing others to choose their own path in life may be the greatest gift you can give to the world.
