(The Guardian)–“Rather than provide humanitarian aid in Gaza, the US should ensure it is subjected to nuclear bombing the way that “Nagasaki and Hiroshima” were at the end of the second world war, a Republican congressman said in shocking remarks that were recorded recently at a gathering with a relatively small group of his constituents.
The comments by US House representative Tim Walberg of Michigan drew condemnation from progressive political quarters, including from some who expressed disbelief that a former Christian pastor would advocate for what they called the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
Entries on Walberg’s congressional calendar – along with videos on social media – establish that he met with members of the public in Dundee, Michigan, on 25 March. As Mediaite recounted Saturday, a clip of the session that was posted on YouTube and other sites, and recorded by an activist, showed Walberg telling his audience that the US should not spend a “dime” on humanitarian aid in Gaza, where Israel has been carrying out a military campaign for months.
The aid would be better spent on supporting Israel, which Walberg labeled the US’s “greatest ally, arguably, anywhere in the world”.
“It should be like Nagasaki and Hiroshima,” Walberg said, alluding to the Japanese cities where the US dropped atomic bombs at the end of the second world war, killing hundreds of thousands of people, many of whom were civilians. “Get it over quick.””

(CEO)— I’ve never agreed with the “Progressive” left’s extreme vitriol toward President Joe Biden regarding his handling of the Israeli/Hamas conflict. Especially when they go so far as to threaten either voting for another candidate (Trump/3rd Party) or withholding their vote entirely in November’s general election.
It’s always felt like irrational thinking and self-sabotage that would ultimately hinder the very cause they are so passionately committed to solving. Biden’s support for Israel is something that was historically baked into the United States Presidential cake. Rightfully so as Israel is one of America’s closest allies. The unprovoked attack on Israel by Hamas was certainly one of the most heinous acts of terroristic violence in history. Including the rape, murder, mutilation, and hostage-taking of American civilians. So Biden quickly coming to the aid and defense of a key ally was the right decision.

As things have increasingly regressed in Gaza due to the Right Wing Netanyahu regime’s failures. To supply necessary aid and stop the indiscriminate bombing of innocent Palestinian citizens. Biden has consistently been ramping up his displeasure as the situation has worsened. To the point where today he told Netanyahu “An immediate ceasefire is essential.” While being the only President aiding hostage negotiations and building a pier to ensure critical access to food/medical supplies for Palestinians.
As Biden often quotes “Don’t compare me to the almighty compare me to the alternative.” In this case, it’s Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans. If you are somehow mad at the speed at which President Biden has progressed in his support for Palestinians. Just listen to what Republicans have in store if they were in power. Specifically, Right Winger Tim Walberg of Michigan feels Palestinians deserve to be wiped off the planet by way of a nuclear blast. He along with Trump and the rest of the Republican establishment have indicated they want to terminate any humanitarian assistance to Gaza. This is what the Gaza agenda going forward will look like. If misguided Progressives protest Biden’s reelection campaign by refusing to vote for him.

Even simply referring to Biden as the “lesser of two evils” against Trump is outrageously flawed reasoning. That would be like comparing the late Russian dissident Alexei Navalny to Vladimir Putin, on their treatment of Ukrainians. Trump boasts daily about his plans to reinstate his Muslim ban if re-elected. Not only does Trump’s political policies significantly harm Palestinians in Gaza. It would be devastating to Arab Americans and Muslim communities Worldwide.
If you believe a 3rd party candidate vote is a reasonable compromise for your disappointment in Biden. You’d be doing the same irreparable damage to Arabs as voting Trump would. Ask Jill Stein voters (mostly Bernie Sanders Progressives) if they regret their choice in 2016’s Presidential Election. It directly led to the overturning of Roe VS Wade costing women around the country to lose reproductive health care rights. No President comes without flaws, in this case, Biden’s pale in comparison to Trump’s.

Cause and effect is a vital element of politics in America that can’t be overlooked. So if your number one concern heading into this year’s Presidential Election is the crisis in Gaza. Think of who the only Presidential candidate is, who feels Palestinians deserve better and will ultimately support a two-state solution. It certainly isn’t Trump and anything less than a Biden vote would destroy the Palestinians’ only hope for a peaceful future. If you really want to protest Netanyahu’s Right Wing extremism don’t help elect the US equivalent.
