(Politico)–“In January 2018, the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump’s then-lawyer and fixer, Michael Cohen, had arranged a payment to Daniels a month before the 2016 election to silence her claims about a 2006 sexual encounter with Trump.
Despite a series of denials by Trump and Cohen about various aspects of the episode, federal authorities quickly opened an investigation, and by April, the FBI executed searches of Cohen’s home, office and hotel room.
In August 2018, Cohen pleaded guilty in Manhattan federal court to several crimes including campaign finance violations, saying he had arranged hush money payments to two women “for the benefit of, at the direction of, and in coordination with” Trump.
That admission came as the result of an investigation by federal prosecutors into conduct by both Cohen and Trump in connection with the hush money. But there was a catch: Trump was still president.”
(CEO)—With the absence of televised coverage being available in Donald Trump’s criminal trial. The media has relied upon Trump himself spreading political propaganda as a way to circumvent their lack of access. Trump has spent both of his pre-courtroom open mic sessions spewing lies to the American public. With little to no fact-checking pushback from the media outlets covering his perp walks. Trump continues to falsely blame President Biden for the criminal prosecution he is currently facing in New York. Yet, even the slightest comprehension of time proves otherwise.
For starters, Trump himself was President, when this entire investigation began. In fact, the only reason he wasn’t arrested for this crime, while he was in office. Is solely because a sitting President does have some immunity from civil and criminal litigation. Just not the blanket immunity Trump claims a President possesses for his entire life, including post-presidency. So for Trump to accuse Biden of overseeing a political witch hunt, in this case, is total bull 💩.
Another fake assertion of Trump’s that can easily be disproven. Is his diatribe, about legal scholars never witnessing a criminal case like the one he is currently on trial for. Not only have similar cases been brought against someone for the same conduct. His former lawyer and personal “fixer” Michael Cohen was convicted and sentenced to prison for this exact incident. Also while Trump was serving his only term in office. So repeatedly questioning the credibility of the charges against him, is obviously absurd.
Trump’s ability is like no other, when it comes to, not allowing the facts to get in the way of his unhinged proclamations. Sadly his perpetual untruths are given carte blanche by the mainstream press. It’s no wonder a large percentage of the population believes Trump’s falsehoods. When they are frequently broadcast across all platforms of media daily. Especially in comparison to the minimal coverage the truth receives.
It’s a shame none of what takes place in the courtroom is being televised. Seeing as it’s the only place where Trump is legally obligated to speak the truth. Instead, the American public is forced to rely upon whatever narrative is deemed worthy of clickbait or increased ratings. So even though Trump is the one on criminal trial, his daily recap will likely garner the attention of the masses. Nevertheless, as long as I have an outlet to share the actual evidence debunking Trump’s rhetoric and habitual lies. I will proudly fill the void left behind, conveying the necessary facts Americans deserve to know.
