(MSNBC)—“Republican talk about impeaching President Joe Biden had, by all appearances, run its course. House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer did his best, spending more than a year searching desperately for evidence of wrongdoing, but the Kentucky congressman failed spectacularly, and even many of the Democrat’s fiercest GOP critics are moving on.
At least, they were. The Hill reported:
“Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.) is prepping articles of impeachment against President Biden after he warned that the U.S. will stop supplying offensive weapons to Israel if its forces launch an invasion into Rafah. Mills, a first-year lawmaker, unveiled his impeachment resolution Thursday, which charges Biden with abuse of power, and he said he plans to “pursue action” Friday.”
For those keeping score, there are now seven different GOP impeachment oresolutions that target the president currently pending on Capitol Hill, none of which is likely to reach the House floor.”
(CEO)— Republican Cory Mills, like his MAGA colleagues, has spent this entire Congress session purposely impeding the basic acts of governance. With detrimental impacts on American national security and threatening the survival of our allies. Currently fighting against foreign aggression from neighboring enemies. This includes the ongoing war in Ukraine from Russia’s invasion, the Israeli military response to terroristic attacks by Hamas, and Taiwan’s self-defense campaign against China.
All of which required immediate military and financial assistance from the United States. Yet because of their leader Donald Trump’s political ambitions, MAGA Congress members like Mills denied supporting the causes. Including the Speaker, MAGA Mike Johnson’s refusal to bring the aid package to a vote for months. This same group of Republicans inflicted irreparable losses and destruction by undermining Ukraine’s military aid. Because Trump was vehemently opposed to supporting Ukraine due to his ties with Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin. The MAGA establishment was claiming America shouldn’t intervene in foreign conflicts. Even with American democratic allies without certain Republican stipulations. Now Mills is alleging President Biden abused the power of the office for his limited conditional requests.
Mills voted twice to block aid to Israel and now says Biden should be impeached for pausing the release of specific large offensive bombs and munitions. Till Israel’s plan of attack, in more populated areas of Gaza, meets higher standards for fewer civilian casualties. A reasonable ask for the US if they are supplying the weaponry. Mills never wanted any weapons to be sent to Israel but now won’t allow conditions for their use. The same MAGA crew calling for Ukraine to ban all abortions and a lengthy list of other nonsensical conditional demands for defense funding.
It’s completely hypocritical how the MAGA GOP operates. They bend, manipulate, and break every governmental rule and norm to get whatever they desire. But if Democrats apply any legal maneuvers Republicans disagree with they cry foul. Using the same tactics the GOP refuses to comply with themselves. Including impeachment inquiries which Republicans ignored Congressional subpoenas when Trump was being investigated. Now apply baseless impeachment accusations against President Biden as a means to muddy the political waters. Creating a false equivalency between Trump’s corruption and Biden’s job performance. No matter how Biden executes his Presidential duties, MAGATS will always challenge his authority. Biden’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. It’s a constant struggle for the Biden Administration to govern properly. When the Republican Party is full of dead weight which refuses to do its duty for Americans’ betterment. Forcing the Democrats to do the job for both parties that the American citizens elected all of Congress to do.
It’s ironic how quickly Republicans act when Trump is the beneficiary of their political gamesmanship. Imagine if the GOP put half the time and energy into helping America and its allies overcome crises. They neglect their actual responsibilities to the US public. To focus all their attention on partisan political retribution. It’s just further confirmation of where the MAGA GOP’s priorities truly lie. If Trump isn’t happy with particular policies then Republicans consider themselves failures. Of course, Nothing pleases Trump more than talk of another potential Biden impeachment. Sorry American taxpayers for having your time and money spent on such wastefulness. But for MAGA Mills and company, another baseless attack on President Biden will be deemed a job well done. By the lone American Republicans answer to, Donald Trump. Who refuses to even pay his taxes.
