(The Guardian)–“Donald Trump dangled a brazen “deal” in front of some of the top US oil bosses last month, proposing that they give him $1bn for his White House re-election campaign and vowing that once back in office he would instantly tear up Joe Biden’s environmental regulations and prevent any new ones, according to a bombshell new report.
According to the Washington Post, the former US president made his jaw-dropping pitch, which the paper described as “remarkably blunt and transactional”, at a dinner at his Mar-a-Lago home and club.
In front of more than 20 executives, including from Chevron, Exxon and Occidental Petroleum, he promised to increase oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, remove hurdles to drilling in the Alaskan Arctic, and reverse new rules designed to cut car pollution. He would also overturn the Biden administration’s decision in January to pause new natural gas export permits which have been denounced as “climate bombs”.”

(CEO)—Back when this shindig first took place I thought to myself nothing good will come out of this get-together. My concern at the time was that Donald Trump is in such financial trouble. How low is he willing to go to close the fundraising gap between his campaign and President Biden’s? So although, selling the future health and well-being of Mother Earth for a billion-dollar payday. To the world’s wealthiest oil tycoons, wasn’t my first instinct. I certainly understood Trump was up to no good. Yet, I’m embarrassed to admit I didn’t imagine this kind of catastrophe was on the market. But, of course, his next logical progression would be selling out the planet’s environmental sustainability to the highest bidders. This is however Donald Trump we are talking about.

Seriously how does a deranged narcissistic world leader, top destroying the global economy and killing millions of people with a deadly pandemic? When his removal of the governmental guardrails already in place, to prevent such a worldwide spread of a virus. He merely gathered up all the villainous climate desecrators. Profiting from killing the planet and making them an offer they couldn’t refuse. Trump is certainly way too old to give a flying f*ck about the repercussions. So to him, it’s a perfect deal and a win-win scenario.

It’s not like he’s capable of empathy towards the rest of his family member’s destiny. Especially when his son Eric is the sole person, that’s not a Republican politician kiss-ass. To actually show up and support Trump, during his ongoing criminal trial. Yeah, Eric was most likely bribed with a sweet Lamborghini-style bed frame for his Mar-A-Largo guest room. Or some other ridiculous item off his wishlist. But no one else from the Trump family accepted an offer in exchange to accompany Donald at the courthouse. What better way, to pay back your own family’s desertion, than shattering all hope of saving the environment?

These are the drawbacks to electing one of the most self-centered evil humans in history to the position of leader of the free world. All the remarkable climate-saving initiatives and policies the Biden Administration has implemented. Gone instantly on Trump’s first official day of his dictatorship. So to anyone paying attention in the mainstream media perhaps this is the type of story that deserves more coverage. The misleading false equivalency comparisons are far more detrimental than beneficial. Stop pretending this is a matchup between two relatively flawed men. When it is obviously a battle of good intentions versus evil. With the fate of democracy and the earth’s survival both at risk. I know it’s asking a lot but with such high stakes on the line. Maybe just this once, we can overlook a two-and-a-half-year age difference for the betterment of mankind.
