(USA Today)—“Daniel Perry, a former Army sergeant convicted of killing a Black Lives Matter protester in downtown Austin in 2020, was freed from prison Thursday within an hour of Gov. Greg Abbott signing a pardon proclamation in a case that triggered a political and legal firestorm.
In a series of rapid-fire developments in a less than two-hour span, the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles recommended that Perry be pardoned on the murder conviction. Abbott then granted the full pardon to Perry, leading to his release from the Mac Stringfellow Unit in Rosharon, about 20 miles south of downtown Houston.”
(CEO)—Just when you thought Kristi “serial pet killer” Noem, was rising up the ranks to capture the title of foremost Republican POS Governor. Out of nowhere, Texas’s Greg Abbott pulls a deplorable stunt like this. To remind all of us, that his body of work proves, he still sits firmly on the top of that 💩 pile. How this man can roll himself into bed and sleep soundly at night I will never truly understand. After a clear cut case of Texas Injustice has occurred with the Governor’s pardoning of a racist murderer.
Yes, the same Governor who wants his State to legalize the shooting of immigrants with no justification. In his warped rationale, purposely killing an innocent Black Lives Matter protester is an act Abbott obviously feels is condonable. The young Air Force veteran victim, Garrett Foster’s Mother described it best. When she questioned whether convicted murderer Perry would have been pardoned if this assassination occurred at a Trump rally?
Sadly we can only presume knowing Abbott’s track record. That, if the victim in this case was a member of the same MAGA cult as the Governor. The death penalty would have undoubtedly been pursued. Just imagine living in Texas now, with the knowledge that, if your political beliefs differ from the Governor’s. You can be innocently gunned down by someone sharing Abbott’s partisan views. With no legal repercussions whatsoever for the accused assailant. A terrifying reality if your State government considers your life meaningless.
As part of this pardoning agreement, Abbott has also agreed to reinstate the shooter’s license to carry capabilities. It’s almost as if there is now a legal precedent in Texas to unjustly kill Democrats. Finally, Governor Abbott has put into motion the concept behind his appalling wet dreams. Probably the only thing waking him up at night from a peaceful slumber. Boy, what a karmic shame it would be if a mishap were to snap the brakes on Abbott’s wheelchair. Makes you wonder, if the Texas heat has sufficiently prepared the Governor for his unavoidable scorching afterlife journey.
