(Meidas Touch Network)–“The Republican-controlled Louisiana State House opened debate Tuesday on a bill to classify abortion pills as “controlled dangerous substances,” the same classification used to ban narcotics in the state under the Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law.
The bill, SB 276, would criminalize possession of abortion pills Mifepristone and Misoprostol without a prescription; punishable by up to five years in prison. Distribution of the drugs or possession of the drugs with intent to distribute would come with a penalty of up to ten years in prison and $15,000 in fines.”
(CEO)—With all this dangerous criminalization of reproductive health care taking place in red states. Putting women and medical professionals at risk of being legally prosecuted. I’m starting to think Republicans in Louisiana and Alabama specifically have an interstate wager going. In which both incompetent sides are battling to implement the most backsliding anti-abortion legislation in the South. To determine which state has the highest percentage of dip 💩 GOP voters, still willing to support, their asinine draconian policies. Because if this race to the bottom of human decency continues, Republicans better hope there’s some sort of perk coming their way. As each one of these clowns will hopefully be removed from office. On the very first chance female voters in those states get.
Maybe the bounty for this gamble should be premium appointment placement at the state’s unemployment department. After all, dealing with poorly run state governments like Louisiana and Alabama you’ll take any consolatory advantage you can get. In the end, Republicans will be fortunate if losing their cushy government gigs is the worst karmic payback they receive. For all the unnecessary exploitation, manipulation, corruption, and abuse of political power happening. Solely to satisfy their own misinformed and prejudicial religious needs.
Who can we ultimately thank for all of this chaos occurring at the state level? The same man-child who boldly claimed contraception should also be restricted by the states. Yes, Donald Trump is the one person deserving all the blame for women’s reproductive rights being stripped away. A man who can’t even keep track of his own lies long enough. His stance on policy changes multiple times over the course of a single day.
None of this nonsense currently exists without electing Trump instead of Hillary Clinton in 2016. Yet somehow the country finds itself debating for a third consecutive Presidential election if he should be given the reins again. I sometimes wonder, even if the public has forgotten the nightmarish situation he left behind after losing in 2020. You can still point to the ongoing problems this country faces today and trace it back to Trump. Inflation, the loss of freedoms for women, minorities, and LGTBQ+ Americans, the growing political divide, Iran as a nuclear power, and even the wars in Ukraine and Gaza all have Trump’s fingerprints on them.
You see once you elect a terrible President it’s as if you’re lighting a fuse connected to many different explosive results. Some may be longer than others but eventually, the destruction left behind can be attributed to that Trump fuse. There is only so much the following Presidents can do to extinguish whatever reactions have already been lit. Biden has certainly had his work cut out for him in his one term. He does however need 4 more years to completely smother Trump’s flame for good.
