(CNN) —“Tennessee Republican Gov. Bill Lee on Tuesday signed a bill into law that criminalizes “abortion trafficking of a minor,” the latest GOP-led state to reduce access to abortion following the reversal of Roe v. Wade.
The new law is aimed at preventing assistance to minors seeking to obtain an abortion. It does not apply to the parents or legal guardian of the minor.
Under the measure, a person who helps a minor obtain an abortion, or abortion-inducing drugs, without consent from the minor’s parent, could be sued for money damages by the minor, by the minor’s parents, or by the biological father.”

(CEO)—Great question Bea Arthur Dorothy Zbornak, I have been asking myself the same thing for a while now. Sadly it seems to get considerably worse with each passing week. So my advice is to buckle in and expect the attack on women’s reproductive health care to intensify in the short term. We are hopefully nearing the tipping point, however. After a few statewide election cycles in Red States, we can expel those responsible and start seeing positive changes. Nonetheless the fastest path forward to reproductive freedom throughout America. Remains to rely on November’s General Election as the Presidency, Senate, and House control are all up for grabs.

The Presidential Election obviously gets top billing due to the importance of nominating Supreme Court Justices. This next four-year period could see at least one, but maybe, two or three vacancies. So if the Republicans take the White House and get to choose Nominees to the Highest Court. It would have devastating lasting impacts on generations of women to come. On the other hand, if Biden wins he could potentially flip control back over to the Liberals. So the stakes for this election are enormous for that reason alone.

With Biden in office, you still would need majorities in both the House and the Senate to make the immediate changes. The Senate plays a significant role in the confirmation process of Justices. But the fastest way to restore Women’s Rights is by passing Federal legislation, as the law of the land. Taking the power back from the states, making all these draconian state laws null and void. Federal law supersedes state law making every ass-backward regulation the Religious Right bullied into legislation obsolete.

Imagine being a scared pregnant teenage girl whose parents are either out of the picture or brainwashed by extremist conservatism. In Tennessee, it is now outlawed for a girl in that situation. To solicit help from a trusted adult with an out-of-state abortion. It’s not like this is some kind of infrequent scenario either. I’m sure plenty of scared teenagers need help from a non-parent to get the necessary out-of-state care they require. Labeling that “Abortion Trafficking of a Minor” is fear-mongering lingo Christian Nationalists use to justify criminalizing common occurrences.

Who actually benefits from laws like this Tennessee ban? I even question the validity of the Tennessee legislator’s story he told, it sounded far too scripted, Republicans act as if they’re roaming villains, forcing young girls to terminate wanted pregnancies against their will. If that ever transpired it would constitute multiple other felonies already on the books. Including kidnapping and an assortment of battery charges at the very minimum. But claiming this is the reality facing underage pregnant teens is total nonsense. These legal hurdles only make the lives of teenage girls much harder. During a time when any sort of assistance can mean the difference between life and death. Republicans are deliberately inflicting more mental anguish and desperation on these young women.

They are misleading and manipulating their constituents. With a reprehensible religious agenda, disguised as protecting children from predatory individuals. Again the fastest way to take lawful authority back from the onslaught of religious radicals spreading restrictions from state to state. Is an electoral sweep from the Democrats, this upcoming November. Let’s put religion back where it belongs, in the churches. Get it out of the government offices where it’s currently being practiced across this nation.
