(ABC News)--“Republicans have long proclaimed themselves the party of “law and order.” That political philosophy, however, doesn’t seem to have extended to the historic criminal trial of Donald Trump that ended this week in a first-ever conviction of a former president — 34 guilty verdicts handed down by 12 ordinary Americans.
Conservative allies of their party’s presumptive presidential nominee didn’t miss a beat jumping to his defense, or echoing his denouncement of the case as “rigged.” House Speaker Mike Johnson called it “a shameful day in American history” and claimed the trial was a “political” exercise, not a legal one. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, the other leading Republican on Capitol Hill, asserted the charges levied against Trump “never should have been brought in the first place.”
“I don’t really see how you can have it both ways, to claim to be the party of law and order and then to denounce trials that don’t come out the way you want them to,” William Galston, a senior fellow in governance studies at the Brookings Institution, told ABC News about the Republican response.”
(CEO)—So ever since Donald Trump officially became a felon, he and his MAGA apologists have been on a continuous media tour. Instead of promoting something of importance these Trump boot-lickers are spreading baseless lies and coordinated anti-democratic propaganda. As MAGATS often do, when the truth is far too embarrassing, for their leader to handle. However this time the bull 💩 they’re saying is dangerous and could easily incite political violence. Making false accusations of a corrupt justice system, undermining public confidence in the rule of law. While the press amplifies this unAmerican rhetoric with little to no pushback of reality.
I plan to give you guys the same logical comebacks I’ve been hysterically shouting at my television over the last few days. Don’t worry, I will try my best to keep the vulgarities to a minimum. A common courtesy my TV and neighbors weren’t afforded. Some of the criticism I’m hearing from this collection of Trump whisperers. This case has been politically motivated. In certain aspects, that is true, but not in the fashion they claim.
Trump, not Biden, is the person who politicized this entire ordeal. He wanted to keep secret “raw dogging” a pornstar while his pregnant wife was at home. Solely because, if that damaging information goes public, soon after his “grab em by the 🙀” commentary. It would’ve destroyed his political campaign at the worst possible moment. So yeah, interfering in the outcome of an election is as politically motivated as it gets. Trump’s lapdogs also claim the Biden Administration has weaponized the Department of Justice against Republicans, specifically Trump.
If that was remotely true then the DOJ never got the memo. Seeing as Merrick Garland’s office also commenced investigating President Biden and his son Hunter. Even choosing to prosecute Hunter along with other Democrats Senator Bob Menendez and Congressman Henry Cuellar. So it appears people committing crimes are being prosecuted by the DOJ regardless of their party affiliation. Then allegations from Republicans that this specific crime Trump was convicted of should have never been prosecuted in the first place?
Well if that was the case, then why did the DOJ under the Trump Administration investigate, prosecute, convict, and sentence Michael Cohen to prison? For his conduct during the exact situation in Trump’s case. Other weak arguments coming from morally bankrupt Republicans. Why did they wait so long before prosecuting Trump and why hadn’t the statute of limitations already expired? Well, since Trump was President of the United States at the time when this investigation began. He was protected by partial Presidential immunity. So due to that circumstance, they were forced to pause the investigation. Until after Trump left office then the statute of limitations automatically resets. Falling squarely into the timeframe that the investigation ultimately took place.
You often hear lame excuses like how dare they hold a criminal trial during Trump’s campaign for President. Well, the investigations started long before he was officially in the race. Some experts (myself) believe the only reason he is running, in the first place, was to avoid being prosecuted altogether. Guess that didn’t work out like they hoped it would. It was due to Trump’s defense’s numerous delay tactics that resulted in the starting point of the judicial proceedings.
The same day the jurors found Trump guilty he and his cronies were promising doom and gloom for the country. Pointing to the stock market and predicting it would crash the following morning. To no one’s surprise but those delusional Republicans, the next day the market saw its best performance of the year. Although you’d assume it would be difficult to be wrong on every topic. Yet somehow Trump and his fellow thin-skinned whiners make it appear so effortless. Why these MAGATS are granted free rein to spread falsehoods and call for violent retribution to American audiences? Might be the lone inquiry I honestly never had a legitimate rebuttal for. Still, I ask myself that exact f*cking question every single day! Oops, my bad, I guess it’s impossible not to curse when discussing Trump… Seriously, F*ck That Guy!!!
