(USA Today)—“Turn on a television or social media stream these days and chances are you’ll see a Republican member of Congress warning that America’s elections are rife with fraud that must be eradicated for the good of the country.
These claims are always long on suspicion and short on evidence. But let’s say for a moment we believe the Republicans who insist our elections need more safeguarding.
Try to square that with what Republicans on the House Committee on Appropriations plan to do Thursday – slashing from the federal budget grants for election security and administration.
So what do the Republicans, who control the House, propose for election security and administration? The House subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government last week voted to cut the $96 million in election security grants, and to cut the proposed funding for the Election Assistance Commission from $134 million to just $20 million.”
(CEO)—Another puzzle piece was revealed by Republicans this week, uncovering the overall picture of how they plan to cheat and steal the 2024 Presidential Election. By drastically reducing the election budget by 85%, while also eliminating the $96 million in “Election Security Grants”. Republicans realize exploiting the chaos produced by severely underfunding the security of our election processes. Will further sow doubt into American election integrity by intentionally assuring the election doesn’t run smoothly.
Think back to a couple of months ago when Donald Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson held a dual press conference. To announce the GOP had growing concerns about immigrants being permitted to vote. An entirely fabricated accusation they co-signed publicly. To set forth the foundation of their multi-pronged assault on trust in fair elections. By concocting a fake narrative, one they can manipulate their political base into believing. You see besides already being illegal for immigrants to vote in our elections. There are incredibly harsh penalties presently in place to deter unlawful voting from transpiring. Including lengthy prison sentences, hefty fines, deportation, and immediate removal from any naturalization or asylum programs. It would be so detrimental to an immigrant’s aspirations of citizenship. That it makes no sense for migrants to risk voting in the first place. That’s why in the last two-plus decades there has only been a handful of recorded incidents. With nearly all of those examples being honest mistakes.
So why are Republicans so concerned with a problem that doesn’t exist? Because lying to the American public is built-in to their plan. False accusations of millions of migrants illegally voting for Biden. This is evident by some of the ongoing legislative bills being considered in the Red States. Republicans are designing laws stating when you vote you must provide evidence of citizenship. Which 1 in 10 US citizens don’t have the necessary documents to prove their citizenship, needed to vote, in those locations.
Unlike the last Trump attempt to overturn the 2020 Presidential Election. This time around The Speaker of the House is firmly on board with the scheme. How can the Speaker change the outcome of an election you may wonder? During any disagreement over the electoral college results or in the situation of a tie. The Speaker calls for a vote from the House of Representatives. Not a normal one-person one-vote either. It goes by each state having a single vote. With Washington DC and Puerto Rico having no representation. This means Republicans would ultimately win because there are a higher number of Red States than Blue ones.
The 2020 Presidential Election was essentially a trial run for this upcoming election. Republicans are now fully aware of where they failed last time. The one saving grace is that President Biden not Trump is currently in office. So Vice President Kamala Harris does control the ceremonial duties of counting the electoral votes from each state. But anticipate plenty of other shenanigans from states run by Republicans. Mark my words, the GOP will purposely disrupt the integrity and security of our elections. With voter suppression and intimidation tactics also being deployed nationwide. Solely to gain absolute political power with no intent of ever relinquishing it again. But the true Republican “Strawman” in this argument will be the innocent immigrants being accused of crimes never committed.
It’s the primary reason the GOP refused to fix the immigration crisis when they had the chance. There was an organized objective from Trump to derail those border negotiations. These are all just individual pieces of a coordinated puzzle of Republican corruption. To produce destabilizing doubt and confusion amongst the population. Republicans’ true ambitions to destroy American democracy fly quietly under the radar of the country’s awareness. Just as a magician utilizing sleight-of-hand maneuvers to distract the audience from the real trick. So too does Trump and his MAGA co-conspirators.
