(Raw Story)–“Donald Trump over the weekend had a roundtable discussion at a predominantly Black church in Detroit that raised eyebrows because photos showed that white people made up the vast majority of people in the audience.
This drew the attention of former George W. Bush speechwriter David Frum, who told CNN on Monday that the stunt revealed a very soft underbelly in polls showing increasing Black support for Trump.
“He created a completely fake media event, he rented a church, he bussed in people who were wearing not church clothes but rally clothes, they were obviously not locals,” he said. “You don’t have to do that if you have support.” “He told a series of preposterous lies,” he said. “Detroit… is having a magnificent turnaround. First population growth in half a century. Lowest homicides in half a century… Detroit is now a magnet for attracting new artists. Detroit is a great American turnaround story. So when you have to tell so many lies, when you have to bus in people, it tells me you probably don’t have a lot of indigenous support in that town.””
(CEO)—Donald Trump’s racial pandering, “Well, I do have a Black Butler!” tour rolled into Detroit this past weekend. As the White Nationalist-in-Chief chose to rent out a predominately Black Church. Then proceeded to fill the church’s pews with White MAGA loyalists his campaign bussed in. Just so Trump’s media allies could manipulate the electorate into believing a fabricated narrative. That Trump’s support among Black voters is increasing the closer we get to November’s Presidential Election.
Just to remind my readers of Trump’s prior prejudicial endeavors to court Minority voters. Includes a gaudy “Trump” bedazzled high-top sneaker. Because in Trump’s distorted view of reality, young Black men love to spend their paychecks on ugly sneakers. Trump’s team also previously organized visits to Fried chicken joints and Bodegas. Pre-filled with Black and Hispanic staffers from an array of different Republican organizations. Trump also enlisted the services of high-profile gang leaders, currently facing murder charges and other violent felony prosecution, to help promote his candidacy. Alongside a collection of “MAGA inspired” rap artists cashing in on the cult-like following of Trump merchandising.
So just to recap Trump’s warped imagination of what constitutes “Black culture”. Revolves entirely around sneakers, fried chicken, bodegas, rap, gangs, and church. Exposing Trump’s campaign initiatives as the definition of prejudicial. Nevertheless, when facing some deserved backlash for his conduct Trump made an outrageous assertion, saying “I have so many Black friends that if I were a racist, they wouldn’t be friends, they would know better than anyone, and fast.” Adding “They would not be with me for two minutes if they thought I was racist— and I’m not racist!”
Yes, folks that was an actual Trump quote from this weekend. A stunning admission from the accused bigot to pull out the “I have a Black friend” card and then double down by rejecting the notion with an “I’m not racist!” assertion. The pinnacle of hypocrisy from a downright unironical Trump standpoint. He sounds as if he’s reciting the top two entries from the “Pretending NOT To Be Racist For Dummies” volume-one edition. Proving once again that no “how to” series can rectify your inherited fascism or your lifelong incompetence. No matter what personality flaw the absurdly titled yellow booklet professes to rehabilitate.
Let us not overlook who these “Black friends” Trump is most likely referring to. Fellow MAGA GOP members Byron Donalds and Tim Scott. Two Congressmen vying to be Trump’s official “Yes-Sir-Men” or Vice Presidential Candidates as they’re referred to in all nondictatorship Presidential campaigns. These wannabe Trump ball-washers have the potential to do as much harm to Minority Communities, as diabetes has caused. People often refer to the duo as “Uncle Tom’s”. An insult made amongst Black populations for betraying one’s own culture. In this case, they advance the fascist ideology of the Trump MAGA movement. But at least the “Uncle Tom” character in Harriet Beecher Stowe’s novel, made the honorable decision in the end to protect vulnerable women. Something Scott and Donalds have shown no signs of making similar ethical about-faces. Instead putting women across the country into jeopardy with their restrictions on reproductive health care. Never mind deliberately disenfranchising Minorities with GOP voter suppression tactics. All while masking the language of their wealthy-serving agenda, detrimental to Black progress, for selfish political gains.
President Biden, on the other hand, has been committed since day one to instituting policies beneficial to Minority Communities. Not pandering for increased polling numbers, but to uplift Americans frequently marginalized by Republican ideology. No amount of Trump manipulation can erase the truth of Biden’s Presidential record. Coordinated MAGA attempts to coerce Minorities into voting against their own political interests are increasing. Sadly they can mislead some into believing, that if it’s on their social media feed, then it must be a legitimate news source. Knowledge is the only known antidote to prevent the further spread of the disinformation disease destroying our democracy from within. If the mainstream press isn’t willing to provide it publicly. Then it’s incumbent upon ourselves to safeguard our inner circle of friends and family with stories exposing the truth about Trump like this article above.
