(Meidas Touch Network)–“Today, Louisiana officially became the first state in the nation to require the display of the 10 Commandments in all classrooms in schools that receive funding from the state government. This legislation covers all classrooms from kindergarten all the way through publicly funded universities.
The bill, which was drafted and passed by state Republicans, requires that a poster-sized version of the 10 Commandments be displayed in the classrooms, along with a four-paragraph “context statement” which notes that the 10 Commandments have been a critical part of American education in the classroom.”
(CEO)—So the religious extremists in the Louisiana Republican Party have passed a law requiring all public schools to display the 10 Commandments. A law that clearly violates the “Establishment Clause” in the First Amendment of The Constitution. What is more widely known as, “the separation of church and state” portion of the historical record. Despite the obvious contradiction of that Constitutional directive. The GOP is once again force-feeding its religious beliefs upon public school students of all faiths. While fully backing a blasphemous Presidential nominee Donald Trump.
A man whose moral resume highlights read like a “How To” guide. For “Breaking Each of the 10 Commandments in Record Time” edition. You would think for as proud as Trump publicly acts after noncompliance in the Christian’s “top 10” list. You’d think someone must have bet Trump that he had no shot at breaking all 10. Which in itself would be disobeying the “Thou shall not covet!” 10 Commandment’s line item. Which is considered by some to be the most underrated “deep track” out of all 10.
Republicans relish pretending to be so self-righteous while they demand others abide by a strict moral code. When they, themselves, constantly lie, cheat, and steal for their selfish political gains. Telling others how to conduct themselves when the GOP’s own house is out of order is the pinnacle of hypocrisy. Perhaps setting examples of morality and integrity within the Republican ranks. Would at least be a wise starting point for the party. Because this “do as I say, not as I do!” mentality is what makes the GOP a turn-off to a majority of voters.
It’s symptomatic of the phony personality the Right Wing embodies in this MAGA era of politics. Projecting and deflecting Republican flaws upon President Biden and the Democrats. Even just in the last couple of days, Trump lapdogs have gone onto Fox News and falsely accused Biden of Trump’s illicit behavior. Lindsay Graham said “Biden’s the felon in this election” a statement with zero basis in reality. While Doug Burgum claimed that America under Biden “is currently a dictatorship”.
Part of Burgum’s illogical reasoning is that Biden made executive orders to alleviate the border crisis without Congress’s approval. When the truth remains Republican Congresspeople blocked the bipartisan legislation to resolve the immigration problem. Solely in response to the self-serving demands of Trump and his presidential campaign’s overall success. If Republicans purposely ignore their top political priority at the expense of America’s National Security. To grant one crazed felon’s “make a wish” ultimatum seems more like the actions common under a dictatorship than anything Biden’s ever attempted.
The entire Republican platform is made up mostly of democracy erosion tactics. Whether it’s forcing religious mandates upon women’s reproductive care or on unsuspecting students in this case. The GOP is consistently on the wrong side of public opinion on these issues. Just as they will go down on the wrong side of history in nearly all aspects of their failed agenda. The only real solution to Christo-fascist Republican policies is to take back their power at the ballot box. No longer can we rely on the Supreme Court to keep the GOP within the confines of the Constitution. Regardless We the People will have the ultimate opportunity for our voices to be heard in November’s Election. No matter how hard Republicans try to illegally alter the rules of the political game. The electorate decides which players stay and which will go home.
