(CEO)— On the one hand, it was quite evident by the Conservative Supreme Court Justices’ questioning during the hearing of Trump’s immunity case back in April. That some amount of Presidential immunity would be covered under official acts. But the scope of this ruling now allows Presidents to commit crimes with extremely limited legal repercussions. Giving the President the same unlimited authority of a King, Dictator, or Authoritarian Regime. Which under another Trump Administration would amount to a get-out-of-jail-free card with no restraints to keep him within the boundaries of the law.
This ruling is not only a slap across the face of each one of the Founding Fathers of this country. It takes the fundamental principles of “three coequal branches of government” and “checks and balances” this government was built upon. Then proceeds to flush them down the toilet like they’re the evidence left behind from a post-coffee morning bathroom visit. Not to mention the disastrous impacts this new blanket stadium-sized tarp immunity will have on Trump’s ongoing criminal prosecutions. Those cases will certainly get gutted and sliced up faster than a fresh tuna at a sushi bar. With none of the same delicious fallout from the latter.
Ironically, just three days prior to the Fourth of July we can officially pronounce American Democracy’s death. Our only hope in this time of mourning is that enough Americans will be mortified by this deplorable decision. That the political ramifications will inspire enough undecided voters to oppose a second Trump term. Knowing full well that a vote cast for Trump. May indeed represent the last free and fair Presidential election held in their lifetime. Now that Trump fully understands he’ll be entitled to limitless authority as President. Do you think Trump would ever willingly part ways with that type of power after gaining it once again? As the great Bob Kaufman of “Bob’s Discount Furniture” acclaim famously said in his cheesy commercials “I doubt it!” I mean Trump already attempted to illegally stay in office before and the Supreme Court just made it a whole lot easier to achieve that same pursuit next time. By removing all of the legal hurdles that prevented Trump’s original coup from triumph.
Today’s Supreme Court’s judgment makes the outcome of this election far more significantly momentous than it was yesterday. This speaks volumes as it was already the most consequential vote in our lifetime. But now it will easily go down as US history’s greatest defeat if Biden is unseated by Trump. The apocalyptic result of a Trump dictatorship means the difference between life and death for expecting American Mothers suffering complications from their pregnancies. Or the dilution of freedoms for LGBTQ+ individuals and minorities across the United States. The lone beneficiary of a Trump victory is Donald himself. Even his allies and family members wouldn’t be exempt from Trump’s retribution-based agenda. Just ask all his former Republican colleagues from his first Administration who are currently supporting Biden. If they believe Trump is mentally fit to hold office. Especially now with these newfound immunity capacities, he can exploit for his revenge on them. We the people still have the opportunity to better this nation in November’s Election. Please don’t squander our last hope at improving on our collective American dreams. Not on a deranged megalomaniac like Donald Trump! A self-serving man looking to force upon this country a dystopian nightmarish reality of his own twisted design.
