(CEO)—With each new appearance Donald Trump seems to fall deeper down the rabbit hole into severe cognitive decline. Perhaps it is the worst-kept secret in politics. But for some reason, it’s still an ongoing issue that the media mostly ignores. At this point, with Harris siphoning off significant portions of the former GOP. The remaining MAGA party members might be better served keeping Trump out of the public’s eye going forward. There’s no way Trump’s erratically bizarre behavior is going to help him get elected. Not to mention all the other Republican candidates up and down the ballot he’s dragging down with him.
However, after watching one of the latest “The Lincoln Projects” commercials. It made me wonder if there’s an ulterior motive underway among some of the GOP’s leadership. Because trotting Trump’s thought-less body around the battleground states. Like it’s the MAGA sequel to “Weekend At Bernie’s” produced by Trump’s Senior Campaign Advisor Chris LaCivita. In a diabolical effort to sabotage Trump’s candidacy from within. A conspiracy theory?….ok technically, yes. But I promise you it is the fun Republican-infighting kind. So bear with me. You see LaCivita is a known ally to Mitch McConnell and Karl Rove. Two staunch conservatives who believe Trump has ruined their vision for the Republican Party.
Rove was most well-known for being the mastermind behind W’s Bush Administration operations. George W. Bush, a Never Trumper himself is rumored to be endorsing Kamala Harris for President any day now. While Mitch McConnell despises Trump for far more personal reasons. Including making racist remarks about his wife Elaine Chao. On multiple occasions, Trump has nicknamed the Asian American Chao “Coco Chow”. Chris LaCivita was also a longtime friend and adviser to John McCain. Another lifelong Republican Trump has disrespected many times over. Saying “He’s not a war hero…I like people who weren’t captured.”
If this is the group of Republicans truly pulling the strings on Trump’s campaign. They would have every right to want to undermine the faux Republican’s grip on the party’s power structure. Especially since Trump has ditched so many of the foundational principles of conservatism for his MAGA brand of politics. Perhaps they recognize the only effective way to win back their party, is covertly. Just ensure Trump self-destructs his own chance of winning this election. Knowing full well that with another election loss, Trump’s political career will be bankrupted like the rest of his failed endeavors.
Don’t forget these are some of the most nefarious political minds in Republican history we are talking about. So purposefully tanking Trump’s candidacy for their own political gain is right up their alley. They already have a proven track record of prioritizing party over country. If anything this is just a complex form of gaining back control over the GOP from Trump and his MAGA cohorts. Not some noble patriotic cause by any means. But as the old saying goes your enemy’s-enemy is your friend. So I do wish them good luck and you can even count me all in. As long as the plan in place is to successfully sabotage Donald Trump.*
