Meet Oklahoma’s Statewide Superintendent Ryan Walters. A dangerous MAGA Douchebag who recently mandated Bibles in public schools.
He recently allocated state funds to support his Christian Nationalist extremism campaign to religiously indoctrinate Oklahoma’s public schoolchildren.
What makes this already appalling violation of the Establishment Clause of the Constitution even shadier? (Which in layman’s terms is the separation of church and state) Is the specification requirements, for the school Bibles. As they are officially laid out here to satisfy the new Statewide public school standards set by Walters.
However, I’ll give you one guess who currently sells the only Bible on the market that meets each one of those not-so-random criteria listed above.
Thanks to Walters not so not-so-subtle list of must-haves, Trump’s Bible will almost certainly be the official “chosen one” brand of MAGA Bible throughout all of Oklahoma.
Walters has been openly MAGA for quite some time now. So, much to his Christo-Fascist delight, he has garnered much attention from his man-child role model and secret “hall pass”, Donald Trump.
The man Walters routinely fanboys over on his seemingly endless right-wing media tour appearances. Where his political rhetoric makes JD Vance seem like a common-sense progressive in comparison.
And Besides being overtly extreme in his political views. Walters is also full of classic MAGA disinformation. Here he is baselessly blaming Democrats for the two assassination attempts on Trump. Despite both assailants being former Trump supporters. A major factor that is purposely overlooked by those on the far right.
Perhaps Walters should spend less time making self-serving television appearances and spreading Christianity to kids of different faiths. To devote more attention and care towards the quality level of education taking place in his state. Because the underwhelming results speak for themselves.
Not only has Walters overseen the worst public school system in the entire country. He also tried to implement the first state-funded religious charter school in the nation.
Not to mention Walters also appointed the bigoted creator of the “Libs of TikTok” account to a School Library Advisor position. Which is essentially hiring the author of the social media account equivalent, of Hitler’s tween years diary.
Walters also has his fair share of corruption. A key element found in your most notable modern-day MAGA mouthpieces.
Including his dereliction of duty to protect his students and faculty from danger. By not accessing necessary safety funding for Oklahoma schools. Yet he tried to pass the blame onto one of his former underlings. Despite Walters’s obvious negligence.
Which ultimately led to bipartisan calls for Walters’s impeachment and removal from his official position.
However the Republican Speaker of the Oklahoma House moved the goalposts. He Demanded 51 Republicans would be needed to start impeachment proceedings. Ignoring all 20 Democrats who are already on board.
Walters’s unethical behavior has earned the ire of the State’s top prosecutor the Oklahoma Attorney General.
Which certainly wouldn’t be Walters’s first run in with the legal system in his current role. After a highly respected School Administrator questioned Walters’s job performance.
About separate funding issues that occurred on Walters’s watch. So Rob Miller took to Twitter to voice his concerns.
To which Walters’s fragile ego couldn’t handle the criticism. So he lashed out against Miller by publicly ridiculing and name-calling him in a defamatory manner.
Walters was eventually sued by Miller but claimed he was immune of each allegation he faced. A recurring theme amongst the MAGA hierarchy it appears. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone paying close enough attention to the far-right and their “Above the law” tactics.
Walters met the Governor, Kevin Stitt, in the most Ivy League Frat-Boy-Elitist way possible, at a tennis match. They quickly became fond of one another and in no time at all Walters was being appointed to high-level statewide educational positions. However many questions have surfaced about whether the Union-busting, Anti-Department of Education Activist has been misappropriating funds. So much so that even the FBI has expressed interest in Walters’s potential wrongdoings.
But as we’ve learned during the darkness of the Trump era anyone who questions MAGA politicians. Is automatically accused of being part of a larger partisan hit squad conspiring against them. Regardless if a large number of MAGA’s detractors are lifelong Republicans.
Meanwhile, another character flaw, oftentimes found in MAGA enablers. No matter how vile the company they keep is they still consider themselves beyond reproach. So it’s no coincidence they are often tied to sexual predators and pedophiles. Seemingly self-absolved of any signs of remorse.
