Republican blowhard Vivek Ramaswamy in a recent interview, boasted that if elected president he would deport U.S.-born children of undocumented immigrants. Ramaswamy the son of Indian immigrants, has once again shown he wouldn’t even be good at “SimCity“ let alone the presidency.
Section 1 of the 14th Amendment states : “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
Vivek’s self-hating vision of what America would be like under his administration. Is not only unconstitutional, it’s inhumane. This country was founded and built by immigrants from around the globe. It’s what sets America apart from the rest of the world. People migrate from their homelands for the “American Dream”.
Besides the 2.6% that are Native Americans, there’s one thing we all have in common. That our Ancestors all came from other countries. Something those on the right either forget or ignore. Because I’m sure they wouldn’t want their grandparents treated the way they treat today’s immigrants.
That’s what makes Vivek’s plan so ignorant. Being the son of immigrants, you would assume he would have a clearer understanding of the sacrifices made to immigrate here. Treating this country’s immigration policies like a game of “musical chairs”. Just because your parents got a chair. The more you take away the chairs of our constitutional rights. The likelihood of a family just like Vivek’s own. Will be chair-less or country-less by the time the music stops. What makes things worse, this is the music playing!
