(The Washington Post)–“The co-founders of former president Donald Trump’s media company filed a lawsuit Wednesday, claiming that Trump and other leaders had schemed to deprive them of a stake in the company that could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The co-founders’ lawsuit is led by Andy Litinsky and Wes Moss, who met Trump as contestants on his reality show “The Apprentice.” The men pitched Trump on the idea of a Trump-branded tech start-up and social media platform in early 2021 after he lost the White House and was banned from Twitter, now called X
Trump agreed to the deal and was given 90 percent of the company, according to a motion for expedited proceedings filed Wednesday in the Delaware Court of Chancery by the co-founders’ partnership, United Atlantic Ventures. The partnership took 8.6 percent, while an attorney on the deal, Bradford Cohen, was given the remaining 1.4 percent, the motion states. UAV launched the Trump Media business, hired employees and raised funding while receiving no “fee or payment for its work,” the motion said. And though Litinsky and Moss left Trump Media that year amid a dispute with its current leadership, UAV retained its shares, according to a SEC filing this month from Digital World.
But UAV’s attorneys allege in the motion that Trump has recently attempted to “drastically dilute” the partnership’s stake as part of what they called an “11th hour, pre-merger corporate maneuvering” tactic designed to increase the amount of authorized stock, from 120 million shares to 1 billion shares. UAV’s attorneys wrote that the “dilution scheme” had “no legitimate business purpose” and suggested that Trump and the Trump Media board planned to issue the new shares to “Trump and/or his associates and children,” watering down UAV’s stake to less than 1 percent.”
I know…I know…I know… It’s extremely difficult to have empathy for anyone who knowingly chooses to go into business with the greediest Con-mander and Chief in history. But normalizing this kind of criminal behavior from a former President further erodes the credibility of the Office. Sadly it’s a significant reason, Donald Trump has as much support among Republicans as he currently does. The problem is the GOP and its supporters have yet to figure out, the jokes on them.
At what point will people understand that when you get into bed with Trump you are likely going to get screwed against your will, literally and figuratively. Yet there is still a long list of gullible, unethical, or delusional types offering up their services and donations. For the privilege of being used and abused by Trump. On a scale that makes Bernie Madoff seem like a New York subway pickpocket in comparison.
The ironic thing about Trump’s con-artistry, it’s always his own followers, legal team, political allies, and business partners. Who, are the intended victims of his ongoing schemes and boondoggles. He never attempts to scam his detractors or adversaries. Probably due to the fact they are usually intelligent if they don’t trust him to begin with. There’s an obvious correlation between his base being uneducated and his opposition being highly educated. That was certainly a deciding factor in his decision to run for President as a Republican candidate. A Democrat until 2011, Trump understood Republicans were susceptible of being duped by corrupt politicians using faux patriotism as cover.
However, Trump couldn’t ever imagine a future where the entire Party’s leadership is caving to his every wish. To a point where Trump now uses the GOP’s funding as his own personal piggy bank. It’s only a matter of time before he bankrupts the Republican Party as he has done with every other venture Trump’s undertaken. You’d think after he nearly collapsed the entire world’s economy during his tenure as President. Republicans would be privy to his bait-and-switch tactics where he overpromises then underproduces.
With friends like Trump who needs enemies? His two co-founders of Truth Social may just be the latest to succumb to Trump’s shenanigans. Just as the plethora of other former lawyers, aides, political advisers, and underlings turned witnesses against Trump learned the hard way. Once he’s done squeezing out every ounce of usefulness from his unsuspecting prey. They go from useful allies to useless enemies seamlessly.
If by this point Trump still pretends to respect you then apparently he’s not done getting from you what he needs. Even if it’s just your vote in 2024, realistically once he receives that you’ll be obsolete in his opinion. So if you’re expecting something in return from Trump. Don’t be shocked when it’s retribution, not political compensation awaiting you. Joining a lifetime full of prior Trump marks and rubes. Once believing they were in on the swindle before it surprisingly turned on themselves. When you dance with the devil you’re bound to get burnt. That’s why a vote for Donald Trump is the ultimate sucker’s bet.
