Today CNN reported that “many House Republicans privately say that it appears to be a foregone conclusion: Biden will face an impeachment inquiry in the fall and could be just the fourth US president ever charged with high crimes or misdemeanors – and that it might all happen by year’s end.”
Also reported by CNN, “Republicans say if they don’t move forward with an impeachment inquiry now, it will create the impression that House Republicans have essentially cleared Biden of any wrongdoing”
To date, Republican-led Committees have uncovered zero evidence linking President Biden to the misdeeds that the GOP is alleging. House Republicans continue to explore the matter through intensive Committee hearings. The current accusations have been leveled by: an alleged Chinese Operative who moonlights as an arms dealer, a Felon, and multiple disgruntled low-level government employees.

It is the latest example of “whataboutism” a tactic most often used by the GOP and their dwindling supporters, to deflect attention from the crimes and wrongdoings of Donald Trump the party’s leader.
Republican lawmakers view the disgraced former president, facing 78 indictments, as the leading front-runner for the party’s nomination in the 2024 Presidential Election. Trump the only President in history to be impeached twice, a feat he achieved in his only four-year term. Have Republicans fearing their leading candidate who already lost an election to President Biden will once again fall short because of the added burden of facing criminal prosecution.
Republican Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy sees a potential impeachment inquiry as an opportunity to muddy the waters and create a narrative. One that he can package to his base. In an attempt to build support for a Party whose recent victories have been: to strip rights away from women and sabotage an effort to free millions of Americans from crushing debts.
These proposed impeachment proceedings which are dead on arrival, will not clear the Senate with Democrats having the majority when a 2/3rd vote is required to convict. Even the House inquiry may not pass, with Republicans holding only a slim 4-seat majority. With 18 GOP seats in districts that Joe Biden was elected, this tactic could backfire allowing those battleground seats to flip to the Democrats in the next election.
So with no factual evidence of wrongdoing by the President, this political stunt is a dangerous precedent to set. A future where any President could face costly impeachment investigations because the House Majority is the rival party. Taking an abundance of time, money, and resources. American voters would prefer that Congress get to work on enacting legislation that would enhance the lives and pocketbooks of U.S. citizens.
The American population deserves to have their elected officials focus more on the problems facing this great country. That’s why we vote for who we do because they support our values and vision. Those same elected officials use their positions and platform solely to take power from others. In an attempt to achieve their agendas. Yet they continue to ignore the growing list of issues facing this country and the people who put them in office. So this is what the Republican establishment resorts to. They hide the truth, that their policies don’t align with the American public and their moral principles are not those of today’s electorate. To which I say to Republican politicians What About That?

Evidence!! We don’t need no stinkin’ evidence !!!

The receipts show Republican politicians are lying to their base and creating straw man social issues for the party to rally around . This has been the playbook for awhile now.. The reason being, that the actual policies they want to implement don’t align with a majority of the American population. Name the last popular Republican policy that was made into law.

The main problem we have is from our deficits and national debt. That comes from too much spending and borrowing to much to spend. Republicans are making some headway there but not enough. Next battle on that front will be in October. We may likely have a government shutdown.

Republican refusal to tax corporations and the wealthy seems to me very short sighted. Of course relying upon the middle class and the poor to fund the whole country is a ridiculous way to make any headway on the deficit. There is plenty of money for this country to take care of all the issues facing the nation. It’s who we are forcing pay the bills that is the issue. At least have the wealthy pay the same percentage as the less fortunate. Massive Corporations pay something maybe ? Sounds reasonable to me.
